Free & Accepted Masons of California. Palo Alto Lodge No. 346 meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM
Masonry is the world’s first and largest fraternity. California has more than 60,000 members and about 340 lodges located throughout the state.
The Palo Alto Lodge No. 346 brothers, friends and families gathered together in Pescadero for The Mason Beach House BBQ on Saturday. Food, drink, stories, laughter were plentiful. We experienced cloudy weather, then sunny weather, back to cloudy with a foggy mist and then the skies opened up for a spectacular California sunset. ☀️☁️🥩🌭🍔🍗🥗🍪🍻🍷🥤🏖️🌊

Presenting the Equinox Analemma above the mystical Callanish Stones in Scotland—a captivating illustration that answers whether the Sun consistently occupies the same spot in the sky daily. In the form of an analemma, this visual amalgamation captures moments from a year's span, taken at identical times and location, revealing the Sun's intriguing journey.
These snapshots, captured at midday over time near the village of Callanish in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, showcase the enigmatic Callanish Stones in the foreground—a Bronze Age stone circle erected around 2700 BC. While the astronomical importance of these stones remains uncertain, their compelling presence adds depth to the composition.
The distinctive figure-8 contour of the analemma arises from Earth's axial tilt and its elliptical orbit around the Sun. At solstices, the Sun graces the top or bottom of this shape, while equinoxes align with its midpoint, rather than the cross point. Symbolizing days of equal daylight and darkness, the equinox marks a universal moment of seasonal transition, celebrated across diverse cultures.
We asked Past Masters all over the world to give some advice to those currently sitting honorably in the East. We then made this Series: "The Old Past Master" We hope that this Masonic series will help those in the Oriental Chair.
Respect is earned. Honesty is appreciated. Trust is gained. Loyalty is returned.

Brother Secretary, Jeff Norman was raised 1 year ago. Let’s keep building our lodge stronger and stronger. Making good men better is to extract the essence of the Masonic experience.
The ritual and ceremony serve to convey and teach certain moral lessons and elevate the individuals to a position higher than themselves. The lessons are things you have likely already heard or have learned in a moral society.
What makes them unique to Freemasonry is that they are presented in a specific format and context. We have come to realize, during the time we have been members of this grand fraternity that we have met men we would have never met otherwise. We had the opportunity to get to know these men, not by their looks or touch, but by their hearts, minds, and souls.
