TrustTheVote Project

TrustTheVote® Project is the OSET Institute's lead initiative, building the people's voting system

Election integrity and voter engagement in the United States are at risk due to an obsolete election infrastructure. We have a solution: reinvent election technology by using open data, open standards, and open source to increase confidence in elections and their outcomes, and help preserve our democracy. Catalyze rejuvenation of the industry to deliver finished systems by making the underlying software technology publicly accessible.

About the TrustTheVote Project

All over the world, election integrity and voter engagement are at risk because of obsolete and insecure election system. We have a solution: reinvent election technology, using open data, open standards, and open source to increase confidence in elections and their outcomes, and help preserve democracy.

The TrustTheVote Project is the work of the non-profit -- and non-partisan -- Open Source Election Technology (OSET) Institute. Established in November 2006 by a couple of concerned technologists in the Silicon Valley, OSET is a California non-profit corporation dedicated to the public benefit. Originally the organization was known legally as the Open Source Digital Voting (“OSDV”) Foundation. In late 2015, the Foundation became the OSET Institute, to reflect the reality that OSET is focused on education, research, and development of election technology innovation
