Gulf Coast Riptides 2k14

What a day the girls had yesterday. 4 games. 4 wins scoring double digit runs in each game.

All the girls have been putting in hard work at practice and on their own time on making contact with the ball each at-bat. We had 84 total plate appearances yesterday and we only had a 7% strikeout rate.

A TEAM batting average of 0.698!! 🔥🔥 There were bunt hits, line drives to outfield, hustling down the line to beat out the grounders, sacrifice flies (we worked on tagging up in practice this week!!), pop flies that found a gap. We did it all.

We were missing one of our girls yesterday so there was no resting but our girls played hard all day. They were aggressive on the base running which we love to see the hustle.

We get to play in our own backyard this weekend so come out to Publix Sport Park and cheer on the ladies. They have been working hard the last few weeks and are ready to compete again.

Yesterday, the girls battled their way into the championship game in the USFA Southeast Super Girl tournament. We had great competition and got to play a long day (8am to 10pm), making it to the finals. We came home with silver rings, and this team of rock solid girls showed effort and focus all day with big plays including a grand slam, double plays, a pickle run down (hours of practice on that one!!), and a walk-off base hit.

We are so proud of our ten SUPER girls!

Excited to participate in the HAVOC organization day. We love supporting like minded softball organizations focused on development of players across multiple age groups.

We're also thankful for the weather forecast as we have been rained out of too many days over the past few weeks so we are excited to get out on the diamond and work today.

Our girls are blessed with some amazing Grandparents that are also their biggest fans!

We know that moms and dads aren’t the only ones giving up their weekends to support their favorite players at the ball field! Happy Grandparents day!

Great competition, good weather (for August in lower Alabama), and we come home with the gold rings. The tournament was called "Back to School" and we definitely learned some lessons in allowing late game comebacks; however, when the girls needed a play to come out on top they stepped up. 33 hits in four games, a team on-base average at .533, some great defensive plays, really solid pitching all day, and a lot of base stealing were some of the highlights.

We missed a couple members of our family but it was great to get back together and play some ball.

This week we talked about many characteristics of great teams and how each player can bring their own talents to make a great team.

We put in work on the field on Friday and then we made some memories at the water park today.
