Our first day of the summer term is a success! Teachers worked hard to design their classrooms and yards in creative and inviting ways. Returning children as well as new children are adjusting well and engaging in lots of sand and water play, nutritious and delicious snack times, and learning how to make new friends. Here's to fun in the sun every day!

"Yesterday morning in El Arroyo we had a very exciting event. The butterflies were emerging from their cocoons! We kept tally marks for how many emerged in the AM and how many emerged in the PM. We also learned that they do not necessarily enjoy nectar from flowers or fruit, they love to feed on tree sap. Who knew? We have attached a link for more detailed information on these very special visitors in our yard. Please share this with your child(ren)."

In 1945, seven quaker families founded the children's school. What a better place to start our in-service week of trainings than at the front gate of school, honoring those seven families whose names are at the entrance as you walk in to our beautiful campus.
Summer kicked off by having the families stop at the entrance of the children's school for a family photo op, then walked together hand in hand to their yards where the teachers were ready to welcome them.
