Areas of priority for grants are: benefiting children and youth, historically and currently underserved and marginalized communities, hunger and homelessness, peace and justice, care for the environment, and advancing economic justice. One of our most popular monthly offerings is SoulCollage®. It is a creative practice derived from psychotherapy – a way to express one’s inner, spiritual life without having to use words. In person or on zoom, all are welcome.

Our theme for this Summer is “Healing.” So many people we know need it. The world certainly needs it. We began last Sunday with a text about healing our daughters – and will continue into August with other biblical texts about healing that might lead us to new ways to wholeness.

June 30 We will focus for several weeks on our need to heal our families and families of the world from the trauma of these modern days.

We will gather as a congregation on June 23rd to hold our Spring Business Meeting. We will focus on ministries we expect to engage in for the coming year.

Father's Day is a day to lift up all who have "fathered" us. We will have a table of remembrance - so bring a photo of your beloved father figures on Sunday! Join us for worship this Sunday, June 16th.

June is LGBTQ+ Pride Month. Our church has been Open and Affirming (ONA) since 1993. We celebrate God's "Radical Inclusion" of all who live and breathe.

Our graduates will be celebrated in worship on June 2nd - followed by a fabulous Pizza Party in the Cloister. Please join us at 11:30am.

Easter Sunday, March 31st
Please bring a few flowers for our “living cross” to be constructed in the Bride’s Room between 10:45-11:20 a.m. Easter Service will begin at 11:30 a.m.

We have encouraged many ways to nurture our faith life during this season of Lent - prayer, journaling, singing, walking slowly in nature, meditating, reading the Bible, reading other wisdom writings, attending church or a concert, walking a labyrinth…and the list is endless.

The question continues to be - what feeds your spirit and what nurtures your awareness of Divine presence?
As we continue using Lent as a time of Feasting and Fasting, in Week #6 we enter Holy Week observance; we invite you to feast on the invitation to “let mystery have a place within us,” says Christine Valters Paintner in her book A Different Kind of Fast. Christine talks about fasting from our fear of the darkness, and to see that, “Darkness is the place of conception, of new birthing. Mystery calls us into the silence and night so as to sit with the shape of things to come, rather than an examination of things as they are.” (p. 199)

The final week of Lent is a time for you to explore something that feeds your spirit and connects you to your Source. The journey continues.

Join us this Sunday March 24 as we celebrate Palm Sunday – come early to process into the Chapel with Palms! We will have our annual Palm Sunday Festival with an Egg Hunt in the Cloister as well as a Taco Cart for lunch – whoopee! We will eat in the Fellowship Hall and have a few games and a resurrection garden craft. Bring an Easter Egg basket to collect your eggs!

We will sing loud Hosannas throughout our service. We hope you can join us in welcoming our choir, youth, and children, along with flutist Lilly, trumpeter Angela, and, new to us, trombonist Brent. We have lots of joyful music to sing and play!

Each year we award a total of $100,000 to various local organizations through our Outreach Grant program. We invite each recipient to come and share about their work on a Sunday. On Feb. 23rd artWorks will be coming to share about the use of their grant to support various art programs for youth. Come and hear about this wonderful program from Dr. Mikala Rahn, the Director of Learning Works Charter School. Our deadline each year for applications is September 1st each year. Lent begins on Feb. 14th this year. We will have our “shroving” Sunday this week Feb. 11th. We will have brunch after worship at 12:30 along with our complimentary coffee cart - cappuccinos and tea lattes anyone? Worship at 11:30 with Rev. Kelly Shriver preaching. Brunch (waffles, eggs, bacon and fruit) served at 12:30. Join us!
