We had a great time at META 2024, which was held last week in Toyama, Japan, from July 16 to 19. META, the international conference series on Metamaterials, Photonic Crystals and Plasmonics featured the latest developments in the area of metamaterials and nanophotonics.
The Synopsys team conducted workshops, talk sessions, poster sessions, and held a booth exhibit. We appreciated the large number of participants at our sessions.

We had an incredible user group meeting last week in Korea! It was a tremendous success, with over 100 users and 16 of our dedicated Synopsys team members in attendance. The event was filled with enlightening presentations that covered how to use our optical solutions software for various applications.

Synopsys Optical Solutions Group has consistently placed significant emphasis on the development of the academic industry. Following our donation of licenses to Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) last year, we successfully held a three-day summer camp from July 8-10.
The summer camp aimed to provide a valuable practical platform for students, enabling them to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical applications. It also allowed students to familiarize themselves with the industry environment, understand industry demands, and gain intuitive comprehension and valuable experience for their career planning and development.

Synopsys Photonic Solutions is supporting the two-month "Integrated Circuit Design and Implementation Courses" event organized by TSRI, featuring researchers and PhD/Master students from various EU countries including Slovakia, Poland, Spain, Italy, and the Czech Republic.
The event covers key topics such as: cell-based IC design, analog design essentials & power management IC design in CMOS BCD technologies, full-custom IC design & silicon photonics design and analysis, and full-custom IC design & CMOS MEMS IC Design.
Our team is contributing to the silicon photonics design and analysis training with our tools: Synopsys Photonic Device Compiler, Synopsys OptSim, and Synopsys OptoCompiler. TungYu Su, Staff Engineer, just completed the first day of training at TSRI.
In the coming weeks, we will continue to support these training courses and host an "internship" program at our Synopsys Hsinchu office.
