We are SO excited to reveal the digital flyer for our next mainstage production, The Wish: A Manual for a Last-Ditch Effort to Save Abortion in the United States through Theater, directed by Cyrus Orion Busteed.

The Wish is a collaborative, devised piece, created by The Wish Collective in the aftermath of the overturn of Roe v. Wade, that asks: What do we do now that we may lose our right to safe, accessible abortion? Both a ritual and a comedy, The Wish is funny, powerful, and urgently relevant. We can't wait to laugh, cry, think, and engage in conversation with you about this play that was simply born to grace Reverie's stage.

For a second summer, Reverie Theatre Group is thrilled to offer a sensory-friendly performance of Shakespeare in New Bedford. Today at 2:00, please join us at the The Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum for a performance of TWELFTH NIGHT that features relaxed tech, spacious seating, and a calm atmosphere. You'll also have the ability to get up and move around at your leisure. We offer these performances as an effort to create accessible theatre experiences, particularly for neurodiverse audiences. This matinee is perfect for individuals with sensory issues, families with small children, or those who want to spend a chill afternoon with us enjoying theatre! 🎭

Our final evening performance of TWELFTH NIGHT is here, and we're ready to bring the comedy, the heart, and of course, the jazz!! 🎹🥁 Join us under the RJD tent for a 7:30 soiree. The house opens at 7:00, and we'll be serving up a pre-show musical treat starting at 7:15. Reverie is also proud to offer a sensory-friendly matinee tomorrow at 2:00 for those looking for a more relaxed viewing experience. Nothing but blue skies for this weekend's performances! 🎶🎹 Come laugh and sing with us at TWELFTH NIGHT and get immersed in the vision that our director Jamie Roballo described as "a love letter to Black culture."

Seating is first come, first served and boy have our seats been filling up fast, so don't forget to arrive early. Curtain for our Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances is 7:30, and our sensory-friendly matinee on Sunday is at 2:00. Last night, our opening night performance was cancelled due to extreme weather. So tonight is our official re-opening night!

TWELFTH NIGHT runs tonight the 16th, tomorrow the 17th, and next weekend the 22nd-24th, all at 7:30pm, with a sensory friendly matinee on the 25th at 2pm. The house will open a half hour prior and seating is first come, first served. Come early to enjoy a pre-show music set! 🎹🎶

As always, our Shakespeare in New Bedford performances are completely FREE!

Meet the crew of Twelfth Night! 🎺

Jamie Roballo (she/they) - Director

"Jamie Roballo is an avid writer, a lover of Shakespeare, and a friend to animals and small children. As a writer, director, and performer, she seeks to tell underrepresented stories of minority identity as love, as power, and above all, as an art form. A recent graduate of UMass Boston, she's currently pursuing a master's of education from Howard University. Her previous Shakespeare in New Bedford credits include THE TEMPEST (Miranda), MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM (Lysander), and AS YOU LIKE IT (Rosalind).
Fun Jamie facts: she loves love, she's a woman in STEM (aspirational), and she will trade kisses for frosted animal crackers."

Riley Marie Fortin (she/her) - Assistant Director

"Riley Marie is thrilled to be presenting Twelfth Night with Reverie Theatre Group! She is proud to have worked with Shakespeare in New Bedford since 2019. Favorite SNB credits include MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (Hero), A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM (Snug/Peaseblossom), and THE TEMPEST (Assistant Director). During off-summer months, Riley is a BFA Acting student at Ithaca College, where she most recently performed in David Ives' THE LIAR (Clarice). Upon graduation, she will continue her theatrical endeavors in performance, directing, and teaching. Riley intends to promote accessibility to theatre education throughout her career. While not in rehearsal, you'll find Riley knitting cute items, scouring library book sales, and petting her puppy-dog, Baci."

Eva Watts-Pine (she/they) - Stage Manager

"Eva has worked in professional theatre for almost 9 years with the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center in New Bedford and the New Bedford Festival Theatre. They have been apart of community theater in the South Coast, working with Your Theatre Inc in New Bedford on a number of productions as a Stage Manager, Lighting Technician, and Board Operator, the Marion Arts Center as Stage Manager, and, this, being their second production with Reverie Theatre Group. To the cast and crew, thank you for a wonderful summer and break legs. To the audience, Eva invites you all to enjoy this production and see weeks of hard work come to fruition onstage, sit back and enjoy the show."

"Shelbi Chandler has worked in film and television for the past five years. Recently she has started volunteering for local productions with Your Theatre Inc. This is her first project with Reverie Theatre Group."

Katherine Niedzwiadek (she/her) - Props Master

"Katherine is a skilled jeweler at Signet with a deep connection to the performing arts. She has extensive experience as a soundboard operator, having worked with the Brown/Trinity MFA program, where she developed her technical expertise in theatre production. In addition to her behind-the-scenes work, Katherine also works front-of-house operations at Trinity Rep, ensuring smooth and successful performances. A proud Dean College graduate, Katherine recently contributed her creative talents by collecting and crafting props for this show. Outside of the theatre, her work as a jeweler reflects her keen eye for detail and dedication to craftsmanship."

"Yonah Ingber has been doing theater for 12 years. Yonah is from Providence RI, and currently lives in Rumford. He works as an Event Consultant at Quality Rental, and is incredibly excited to be the Production Assistant for this production of Twelfth Night set during his favorite decade"

"Alexander is the Production Manager at Vast Inc, Technical Director for Reverie, and the lighting/scenic designer for The Stadium Theatre in Woonsocket RI. Alexander attended Rhode Island College from 2017-2022 where he pursued a degree in Theatrical Design and Technology."

"Jeremy is an Associate Technical Director for Reverie Theatre Group and a Trustee on the Board of Directors. Jeremy is riding the high of Reverie's triumphant emergence onto the Rhode Island scene as the Set Designer and Head Carpenter of Awakening of Spring. Jeremy joyfully continues his legacy of similar design roles with Reverie, and beams at the privilege to help bring to life another installment in the Shakespeare in New Bedford series. Jeremy looks forward to each and every future opportunity to amplify and live by the mission and values of Reverie Theatre Group."

Everett Hoag (he/him) - Costume Designer

"Everett Hoag is an artist, designer, teaching artist, and writer with a rich background in the arts, business, and fashion. Everett is classically trained and honed his craft on the streets and stages in the major capitals of the world. Being a ‘child of his times’ he has worked extensively in film, on television, and the Internet to experience the lively arts on a global level. He's designed costumes for opera, theatre, and stunning performance art productions for galleries and museums. For Everett, his creative process is about living with the celebration of art in your life. His dad, Everett Sr., was a volunteer at the RJD for several years curating the Collection and staging exhibitions."

Lauren Katherine Pothier (she/her) - Pianist

"Lauren Katherine Pothier is a Rhode Island based singer and theatre artist. She is the very proud founding Artistic Director of Reverie Theatre Group. She received a BA in Musical Theatre from Rhode Island College in 2018 where she worked in the costume shop for four years and received nominations twice for the Richard Maltby Jr Award for Excellence in Musical Theatre. In 2021, she received her Master's in Public Administration from Johnson & Wales University. She is a private voice teacher to students of all ages, levels, and genres. In the spring, she music directs at Johnson & Wales with the JWU Players for their annual musical, such credits include Bright Star (2022), Carrie: The Musical (2023), and The Addams Family (2024). She also music directed Peter and the Starcatcher at The Community Players under the direction of Cyrus Busteed. She just recently directed The Awakening of Spring here at Reverie."

Tylar Jahumpa (he/him) - Fabian/Drums

"Tylar Jahumpa is excited to be working with Reverie Theatre Group! He graduated with a BA for Theatre at Dean College (Technical Theatre Concentration) but loves to sharpen his tools as an actor. When he isn’t reciting lines onstage, he is often taking the helm at the director’s chair. His recent performances include Captain Mike in Wonder of The World, Georg Nowack in She Loves Me and Golden Thunder in Airness. Tylar will be directing Lampedusa at Contemporary Theatre Company from September 6th to the 28th!"

"Emily MacLean is a q***r theatremaker and Shakespeare obsessive based in Providence, RI. A graduate of URI Theatre, they were most recently involved in Reverie Theatre’s Q***r Fundraiser Cabaret as a vocal performer, and played Ernst in The Awakening of Spring, another Reverie production. Other credits include Monceau in Head Trick Theatre’s Incident at Vichy, Jacques in the CTC’s As You Like It, and Ruth/Henri/Orphan in Burbage Theatre’s staged reading of And Baby Makes Seven. They cannot wait to bring one of Shakespeare’s most witty and delightful heroines to life in NB this summer!! ✨"

Rey Billups (she/her) - Curio/Singer

"Rey Billups (she/her) is an actress, singer and dancer based in Providence Rhode Island. You may have seen her as Sandy Cheeks in “SpongeBob the Musical”, Madame in “Beauty and the Beast” or Ferdinand in “The Tempest”. Rey Is very excited to be working with Reverie again, and is incredibly thankful for the opportunities that they have given her."

"This is Carlin's first Reverie production and he is ECSTATIC to be working for this company! He promises he's not as big as a buffoon than what his performance may portray, but he loves to clown around once in a while. Previous roles include Lloyd Dallas in Noises Off (Stadium Theatre), Martin Marcus in The Ruby Sunrise (Contemporary Theatre Company), Roy in Fun Home (Academy Players), Titus in Titus Andronicus (Theatre Fairfield). Shoutout to his wonderful castmates and creative team, with their outstanding support and hard work during this process. And a final shoutout to Kiersten Bjork, Samuele Dionysus Deluise, Zachary Gaiero, Sean Ryan, and Bruce his beagle."
