Last week some of our Peachtree City employees volunteered for charity work project with Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity which is a non-profit organization that provides affordable housing and community development services in the southern crescent region of Atlanta, Georgia. It was a great experience to be a part of it outside of the regular day to day work in the office and factory.

In this issue we present the new Gx® Performance Level for our vials, syringes, ampoules and cartridges. Now it's even easier to find the right Gerresheimer product for your applications and needs. The new classification is based on an understandable systematic with increasing performance from level to level and clearly defined quality requirements and attributes for each level.
The ophthalmic therapy area is another focus of this issue. Read more about why our silicone-oil-free glass and polymer syringe systems ensure maximum compatibility even for highly sensitive ophthalmic drugs. We also introduce the new Ophthalmic plus bottle in this newsletter issue, a PP bottle that we developed in cooperation with PACKSYS especially for people with limited mobility in their arms and fingers. Unlike traditional systems made of plastic that require squeezing from the sides, this packaging is designed to be pressed on the bottom.

Gerresheimer and Aptar Digital Health collaborate to develop integrated solution for cancer therapy
Gerresheimer, an innovative systems and solutions provider and global partner for the pharma, biotech and cosmetics industries, and Aptar Digital Health, a global expert in Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), digital Patient Support Programs (PSPs) and disease management solutions, collaborate to develop an integrated solution for cancer therapy management. As part of this collaboration, the Gx SensAir on-body drug delivery device will be connected to Aptar Digital Health's software-as-a-medical device platform to improve the treatment experience and outcomes of cancer patients. Gx SensAir can be used to administer large molecule biopharmaceuticals subcutaneously. The integrated solution aims to facilitate the onboarding of patients to new therapies, accompany them and help them better manage adverse effects, and make it easier to monitor patients remotely, ultimately improving treatment adherence and clinical outcomes.

Kicking off the Holidays with an amazing employee lunch

Governor Brian Kemp today announced Gerresheimer, a manufacturer for the pharma and life science industry, will invest more than $88 million in expanding its manufacturing operations in Peachtree City, creating over 200 new jobs for Fayette County.

“This project is a prime example of the exciting growth of the life sciences industry in our state, with companies like Gerresheimer bringing career opportunities to all four corners of Georgia” said Governor Brian Kemp. “Employers from across the globe can find a skilled workforce here that we are continuously investing in through innovative programs like the GEORGIA MATCH Direct College Admissions Initiative. We're excited to see how this expansion will further benefit the community and surrounding region.”

Gerresheimer’s new facility will be located in the Southpark International Industrial Park in Peachtree City, and will produce medical devices, in particular autoinjectors, to administer injectable drugs. Operations are expected to begin in fall 2024.

“We are dedicated to fostering strong partnerships and economic growth in Peachtree City, evidenced by our support of Gerresheimer’s plans to expand their facility here,” said Peachtree City Mayor Kim Learnard. “Gerresheimer's commitment to innovation in the pharmaceutical packaging industry aligns perfectly with our vision for a prosperous and vibrant city. We are excited about the additional employment opportunities and the positive impact this expansion will have on our community.”

Digital monitoring concept monti wins our Open Innovation
Program

A university research project by doctors and employees at the University Hospital of Duesseldorf, Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf, and the University Hospital RWTH Aachen University Aachen won out against the competition. The “monti” monitoring concept opens up opportunities for supporting cancer patient therapy at home.
