I went by this morning and packed up my booth. After sending out my email yesterday I had several loyal customers place big ‘stock up’ orders and I realized I didn’t have enough left to keep my booth stocked through the month! What a crazy problem to have, right?? 🤪 So I’ve added what was left at the boutique up on the website so there’s a few previously sold out items back in stock now!

Ah, the new year. A time for reflection and looking ahead. 😌 Personally, my goal for this new year is to reduce my stressors and create more joy.

A huge change I will be making towards that goal will be with my business. I will be transitioning back to a ‘hobby’, which means I won’t be on social media very much, I won’t keep a very deep inventory, and what I do still offer for sale will have lower prices. It’s a win-win for everyone! 😄

For the month of January, my current inventory (except food items) is 30% off! And since I announced this to my email list first, I can tell you it’s already going fast! 😳

We got a ton of new growth and blooms on the coral vine once it finally started raining again. The bees are LOVING IT!! Seems they’re getting in a lot of last minute foraging before our temps get practically cut in half overnight!! 🥶

Tidied up and restocked my table at in preparation for the Pearland Boutique Shop & Hop! While I’m spending my time between the volleyball court and softball fields all day, y’all have fun shopping!! 😄

My work table is great for all kinds of projects! Cleaned up my mess from making more Body Scrub so I could work on making shirts for my softball team costume! 😄

The roses are coming back!! 🙌🏻 After such a long, hot, dry summer, we finally got some good rains the past few weeks and everything is coming alive again! It’s like we’re having a new Spring instead of moving into Fall. Flowers are blooming, trees are growing new leaves, I’ve even got baby mulberries on the mulberry bush!! And I’m back to having to mow the grass every week again. 😂

It’s been raining the past 3 days. 🌧️ And while we’ve desperately needed it, it still means our games and practices have been cancelled. Which meant that last night I was able to get another batch of tallow rendered since I didn’t even have enough left for one more loaf of soap! 😱 So I say, thank goodness for the rain! 😄 This batch yielded me 4qt of beautifully clear and white tallow and I’m so pumped to get to making more soap!

Did you know that I purchase beef fat from a local family run cattle farm and rendered it into tallow myself? It’s amazing how I am able to transform something that would have ended up as just waste from beef processing into these beautiful body products. Tallow is actually a perfect ingredient in skincare items since it’s almost identical in makeup to our own natural sebum so it’s the perfect complement to our skin!

Sometimes having chickens is just peaceably coexisting together. Other times you're forced into the role of ER doctor without notice. 😳

When I went out to the coop yesterday afternoon and found a hen with a bleeding toe, I knew I had to jump into action! I am by no means trained for anything other than basic first aid, so I just did the best I could with what I had.

I made sure I got the wound cleaned, applied pressure to slow the bleeding enough to use some coagulating powder, then wrapped it up tightly with some gauze and hoped for the best. You never know how these things will turn out. She was pretty weak from the blood loss and didn't want to stand on her bandaged foot.

I am happy to report though, that when I went out this morning to check on her, she was up and moving around, much more alert, and she hadn't bled through her dressing. 🙌 I'll keep my eye on her the next few days and keep her foot wrapped up, but here's to hoping I was able to save our Star girl!

Meet Dandelion, or rather, let me reintroduce you. Dandelion was the March Soap of the Month and you may be thinking, “Gosh, it’s so old now. Isn’t it like too old to use anymore?” Well, I’ll let you in on a little secret. 🤫 Soap actually gets better with age! What??

We ran out of our ‘personal’ soap stash and I grabbed a bar of Dandelion for my shower this week. Oh man, y’all are missing out on this one!! It has such an amazing lather, so bubbly and just feels so soft on your skin! There’s still some bars left in both full size and mini, so you better go grab some because when it’s gone, it’s gone!
