Many orphans can be left a few hours to see if mom comes back...NOT OPOSSUMS! If you see a baby like this one in a yard or anywhere, get it quickly in a little box or pet carrier with a blanket, keep warm, and call your local wildlife center.
Momma opossum can have up to 13 babies. As they grow, they don't all fit in the pouch so they ride on her back. If something startles her and she runs, one can fall off. Momma doesn't know she lost one so please never ever leave one thinking mom will come back...

Save a sea turtle's life! Please knock down sand castles and cover up holes at the beach.

Do you like building sandcastles and digging holes in the sand when you go to the beach? Well, they may not be all that they seem!
Sandcastles and holes in the sand that are left overnight become obstructions for nesting female sea turtles, as well as their hatchlings when it comes time for them to hatch.
Holes can lead to adults and hatchlings falling within them and becoming trapped. That is one big hole! Make sure to knock down your sandcastles and fill in the holes before you leave the beach that day. Just a small action like that could save a turtle's life!

Walk and check your lawns before mowing in case of nests...
Soon mowing days are here.
Before you start....check your yard!
Rabbits build nests in our yards!
Thank you to Peaceful Planet and Beth Culp for today's fun fact!

Save the Bees! They pollinate 1/3 of our food. Don't move them. Call someone to relocate them if they haven't moved on their own in a day or two.
Also, for our animal advocates out there, leave a bowl filled with marbles, water (and a little bit of salt) so they can rest, drink water, and not drown.
We have reached 100 followers!!! To celebrate we had our first prize giveaway! Congratulations Andrea Janna you are our lucky winner! We will PM you to get you your animal related gift!

If you want to feed the ducks, please feed them corn, lettuce, seeds, frozen peas, or oats. Bread is not good for them. Thanks Sara for this fun fact!

Ants anyone? 🐜
Many humans have complicated hair care routines... but has anyone tried ANTING? It works for (200 species of) birds!
Inspired by the work and programs of Dolly's Dream, we were proud to provide our first sponsorship yesterday helping rescue families with their senior pet wellness needs! This officially launched our surrender prevention programming to keep senior dogs at home. Thanks to Saving Sage for working with us.

Sharing the beauty and grace of sea turtles...March 1st marks the start of sea turtle nesting season. Please cover up holes your kiddos dig up at the beach so turtles and hatchlings don't get trapped in them. As always, please clean up after your beach visit.
