Obsidian Wellness Collective

Obsidian Wellness Collective was founded by Anasthasia Grand-Pierre as something to call her own and continue expanding on with the primary goal of connecting customers who have a desire for receiving visceral and effective care with practitioners who are masterful, genuine and compassionate in their craft. The name itself is inspired by her birthstone, the obsidian stone [https://www.charmsoflight.com/obsidian-healing-properties ]-associated with properties of manifestation, transformation, and purification to name a few. As a collective, the company aims at expanding in on other aspects of wellness such as educational workshops, fitness, retreats and more.

Meet the Founder

Anasthasia comes from an extensive dance background (since 2001), many years spanning in performing for Miami based companies. Her drive for getting into wellness comes from experiences she had in high school where her body would suffer from chronic tension affecting her ability to dance efficiently. One of her ballet instructors, a pillar in the Miami dance community, sponsored a few therapy sessions through her program, significantly ameliorating Anasthasia’s ability to dance more aptly. Those first massage experiences resulted in being the catalyst to awaken her curiosity for knowing more, and eventually compliment her performing career by becoming the therapist and business owner she is today.

Shortly after receiving her license in massage therapy, Anasthasia quickly started her own out-call massage services (2013) in South Florida as Anasthasia’s Massage and Bodywork Therapy. She also has the experience of working in a wide array of spa environments such as detox centers for drug addicts, chiropractors’ clinics, a local chain spa and a few luxury branded spas in Miami and Palm Beach.

In Anasthasia’s experience from both industries, there are disparities in education on proper care and techniques for addressing injuries and preventative maintenance on the body and she plans to fill that gap. She has had the privilege of working on professional dancers and Broadway performers, and what she has found working on them is, most are hesitant in investing in massage therapy because they haven’t found practitioners that can effectively address their specific needs and improve them. In hearing this, the idea came to thought “ lets connect these professionals and any others looking for these quality type treatments with practitioners who can deliver on those demands”.

It is in experiencing various business and wellness events and being a part of massage therapy associations such as the FSMTA, Anasthasia discovers more practitioners like her who are constantly looking to sharpen their skills in the wellness industry. And from her keen ability to connect with other industry leaders and professionals in other fields looking for such services she can connect them together, giving birth to what is now Obsidian Wellness Collective.
