Monterroso Integrative Services (MIS) provides unique services for families seeking assistance with behavioral concerns and/or skill deficits.
Our goal is to provide services in any environment needed, be it at school, home, or in the community. MIS utilizes a family integrative approach to implement techniques of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and mental health counseling in order to provide families with a individualized experience. A large component of our services include providing caregivers with the tools needed to implement behavior modification techniques on their own.

âHave you tried exercising? Why donât you take deep breaths? Have any hobbies, that will make you feel better.â
Have you ever had a conversation with a loved one or even a professional, and felt the âickâ with their advice?
Often we find ourselves surrounded by, âdo thisâ or âtry that.â People around us believe they know whatâs best for us, and this disconnect and advise makes us feel misunderstood.
Understanding othersâ perspectives, meeting them with empathy, and building trust are essential steps towards meaningful change for those around us, and even for ourselves. Meeting people where they are and connecting with them and their truths is key to change, and this is what you should feel when working with a therapist.
MIS is ready to support you and your family, now! We often hear that many of our families are on waitlist for extended period of time, sometimes even a year! Here at MIS we have no waitlist! We get started on the assessment when you call and have all year-round interviews to ensure that we have the right staff for you.

We are meeting those in our community! As we build our resource folder for our incoming families, we go out into our community and meet other like-minded profesional! Not only do we believe in having a variety of services in house, we know that our collaboration with others (Pediatricians, Family Medicine, Neurologists, etc) helps us support our clients and their needs!
Our two pamphlets were mindfully created to support other clinicians during hard conversations.
1. What is therapy? A pamphlet created to provide detailed information that helped guide clients towards what they may need therapeutically and the options available.
2. So, whatâs next? A pamphlet created to help practitioners guide families who have just received an Autism Diagnosis for their little ones. During a time that feels so overwhelming, this pamphlet helps others with common questions and understandings of what an ASD diagnosis can mean and what the next steps may be to support their little ones.
As our clinic establishes itself in the community, we are excited to connect. As we always says, we should do life alone!
Are you interested in these pamphlets? DM us, and we will send your company some to better support you as well!!
đŞťWe believe in order to maintain our value as a company, you must know your values and live by them! From our admins, supervisors, Therapist and clients, we guide all we do through these values.

My Foundations series is created as a guided journal to increase peopleâs insight and knowledge on themselves while building their confidence in different parts of their lives.
If confidence is knowledge, the more we learn about ourselves in different areas of our lives, the more we can move mindfully and confidently in this world that comes with no true manual
This is no regular journal. Iâve spent months changing and updating as I complete the two day retreats. Making sure each questions fosters more, as you dive into who you are, why you do what you do, and what you want for the future.
Canât wait till the entire series is done.

In my recent podcast, we discuss the shame surrounding $ex and the work of Brenè Brown in vulnerability. Understanding the difference between feeling bad for what youâve done versus feeling bad for who you are is a really important distinction. We wonât be perfect and all that we do and a lot of times we wonât even do the right thing. But when shamus Inc. itâs more fundamental to our core and what we believe butter sauce
â¨How can you tell the difference between shame and guilt for yourself?how do you give yourself grace?â¨
Available now â¨Joined by Rachel Smith, a license marriage and family therapist and certified S*x Therapist, The Truth About $ex & Shame dives deep into the definitions of shame. We explore why we have shame is $ex and how to begin to move to free yourself and your partner from Shame. Available on Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube!
Sometimes in an argument hurt people try to hurt people. For some reason it feels good to know that youâre somehow even. But the purpose of an argument is to be understood. You donât want your emotions to become the distraction to your message. You donât want to manage the consequences of parentheses âIâm sorry.â
So good rule of thumb, is that if it feels good donât saw it. Thatâs your time to take a pause and take a step back so that the moment can be productive.
We are so proud and honored to introduce you to Dr. Lucia Ricardo! Dr Lucia Ricardo is our new adult and child psychiatrist. Her diligence and dedication will help so many of our families with mental health medication management.
Dr. Ricardo is a proficient bilingual physician, who has undergone training in both adult and pediatric psychiatry. She completed her Adult Psychiatry Residency at the prestigious Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in Elmhurst, NY, where she acquired the skills to manage diverse and high-risk populations. Later, she returned to her hometown and pursued her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Miamiâs Miller School of Medicine.
While Dr. Ricardo has experience working with patients from different backgrounds, her primary interests lie in perinatal and child and adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Ricardo takes a non-judgmental approach when working with clients, meeting them where they are on their personal journey. She believes in providing all evidence-based options and educating clients about them to make informed decisions. She encourages clients to play an active role in their treatment, ask questions, and provides them with the tools they need to achieve success.
We get the amazing opportunity to work with so many parents. We watch daily as mothers pour their hearts into their children. The love from a mother is so unique, and we are proud of each of you!
Happy Mothers Day â¤ď¸
MIS Full Team Meeting â¨Highlighting our value, Dont Do Life Alone, we explored the Sound House Collegue Relationship and the value of connection, depth, and feeling seen. We are so grateful for our team, and we canât wait to see you next time!
How can we approach each other in ways that expresses our worries or concerns instead of telling the other person how they feel? I always tell couples, donât teach your partner about themselves in that moments of anger. They will often be defensive! We want to speak in ways where our emotions do not become the distraction to our message.
⨠Say what YOU feel
⨠Say what you are experiencing
⨠Give them the benefit of the doubt
âI know you may not mean it but I feel like âŚ. When âŚ..happensâ
Are you confident? Confidence is something we all look forward to building, as it allows us to move through life gracefully and with our heads held high. Allowing the us to move through the good and the bad, confidence tells us âyesâ when we are spaces of wonder.
So how do we build confidence? Listen to Dr Daisy Monterrosoâs podcast, on her new show, The Truth About! Dr Daisy explores the truth confidence and uses these 3 tips to building conference. Head over to Spotify or Apple Podcast for more!
