Tonight, Wednesday September 20th, is the launch of our seven-session Alpha Marriage Course. Dinner begins at 5:30 PM in the Parish Hall. At 6:00 PM we will move upstairs to the sanctuary for this exciting video-driven course. We should be able to wrap things up by 7:30 PM. See you tonight!

As you get up and go to worship this Sunday, the world sees you doing something very unspectacular, boring, and insignificant. They see you going to church, praying, listening to a sermon, receiving bread and wine at Holy Communion, etc., but the spiritual reality is this: YOU ARE DOING THE INCREDIBLE: You're joining together with all the angels and saints throughout the ages to proclaim that Jesus is the Conqueror of Hell, and the Harrower of Hades, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords; and that one day Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord!

That's wonderful!

WATCH - 'God Is Moving': Hundreds Baptized in Pond at Auburn University A huge group of people who showed up Tuesday night at Auburn University's Neville Arena in Alabama left with changed hearts.

We had such a blast at The Mission Anglican Church block party today. We had so much fun with our church family and made new friends! Our event was timed perfectly between the rain storms.

Almighty God, whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain, and entered not into glory before he was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the Cross, may find it none other than the way of life and peace; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord. Amen.

Barbie has become the highest grossing movie of 2023. In this movie, Barbie asks an important question that we all need to think about as human beings, "Do you guys ever think about dying?" Jesus is the answer to the plaguing question of death when he proclaims, “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades" (Rev. 1:17-18).

Blessed Savior, at this hour you hung upon the Cross, stretching out your loving arms: Grant that all the peoples of the earth may look to you and be saved; for your tender mercies’ sake. Amen.

O God, the source of all holy desires, all good counsels, and all just works: Give to your servants that peace which the world cannot give, that our hearts may be set to obey your commandments, and that we, being defended from the fear of our enemies, may pass our time in rest and quietness; through the merits of Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.

O God, the King eternal, whose light divides the day from the night and turns the shadow of death into the morning: Drive far from us all wrong desires, incline our hearts to keep your law, and guide our feet into the way of peace; that, having done your will with cheerfulness during the day, we may, when night
comes, rejoice to give you thanks; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, by your death you took away the sting of death: Grant to us your servants so to follow in faith where you have led the way, that we may at length fall asleep peacefully in you and wake up in your likeness; for your tender mercies’ sake. Amen.

We had so much fun at The Mission Anglican Church back to school bash at Laguna Beach on Pensacola Beach. We had a good turnout with some great youth. We're looking forward to a fun year ahead!

Almighty God, by your gift alone we come to wisdom and true understanding: Look with favor, we pray, on our universities, colleges, and schools, that knowledge may be increased among us, and wholesome learning flourish and abound. Hello everyone, I'm going to create a list with any teachers and students in the congregation that will be going back to school this Fall. We will have a sign-up for people who want to commit to praying for a teacher or student throughout the school year. Please let me know about any teachers or students we have in the congregation so I don't miss anyone and let me know if you'd like to commit to pray this school year.

We had fun with our Life Group from church last night. Gulfside Pavilion was beautiful. The music was just okay, but it was nice spending time with our friends.

Monday Update August 7 2023

Our Do Unto Others (DUO) for August is the Mannah Food Bank. Bring your non-perishable food and leave it in the basket near the Servants’ Table.

We are relaunching our Youth Ministry, now called “Next Gen at The Mission” on August 20th 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM. We will meet at The Mission for a pizza dinner and games at 5:30 PM. At 6:30 PM we will travel by church van to Laguna Adventure Park (Pensacola Beach). At 7:00 PM we are booked for the obstacle / ropes course. We will depart Pensacola Beach at 9:00 PM and be back at church by about 9:30 PM. A waiver form, available in the foyer, must be signed by the parents or legal guardians of all participants. This is a free event and we encourage our youth to invite friends.

A “Prayer Walk” is scheduled for September 9th, 10:30 – Noon. We will pray over our neighborhood and also leave flyers for the Back to Church Sunday and the Neighborhood Block Party.

Our next big event will be Back to Church Sunday on September 16th, and a Neighborhood Block Party on Saturday 15th. The Saturday Block Party will include free food, games, live music, and inflatables! Sunday is the official Back to Church Sunday, and we will be hosting a Friends and Family-style Sunday with instructed liturgy, visitor friendly message, and a potluck lunch. We want to pack the church for this event so invite friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers! The difference between a growing church and a declining church is one word – INVITE!

Alpha’s Marriage Course is scheduled to begin September 20th, 5:30 PM. This is a free seven-week course with dinner included. You must register by August 15th by calling Lisa Browning at (850) 390-0725.
