On July 24, we held our Logic and Accuracy testing for the Primary Election on August 20. Machinery from nine precincts and one early vote site were chosen at random to be tested in-front of the Canvassing Board and members of the public.
ExpressVote units, which are devices to help those with disabilities easily mark their ballot, were tested to ensure that they could display and mark the correct ballot style. DS300βs, the devices used to tabulate (count) ballots, were fed a series of test ballots to verify their accuracy in counting.
The test was successful thanks to the help of our wonderful staff who tirelessly prepared for this day. The Logic and Accuracy testing was one step of many in the march towards the Primary Election. The Escambia County Supervisor of Elections Office thanks you for allowing us to serve such a vibrant community and give them the opportunity to have their voices heard in each election.

On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers freed enslaved African Americans in Texas; over two years after Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. Today we celebrate Juneteenth, commemorating the day slavery officially ended in the United States.
Today we celebrate the anniversary of June 14, 1777, the day the Continental Congress approved the design for the original flag of the United States. Fun Fact: the current flag is the only iteration to have lasted more than 50 years.
