If we are still working on mastering pull-ups these are some scaling options:
• Banded Pull-Ups: Use a resistance band looped around the bar and under your feet or knees to provide assistance as you pull up.
• Jumping Pull-Ups: Use the momentum from a small jump to assist with the upward movement, then control the descent to work on strength.
• Ring Rows: Set up a pair of rings or a TRX at an angle and pull your body upward. The more horizontal your body, the harder the movement.
• Negative Pull-Ups: Jump or use a box to get to the top of the pull-up position, then lower yourself down as slowly as possible to build strength.
These options allow you to modify the pull-up based on your current strength while still building toward unassisted reps.

Kettlebell swings primarily target the glutes, hamstrings, core, and lower back. They also engage the shoulders and hips for stability and power.
How to do them effectively:
1. Start with feet shoulder-width apart, gripping the kettlebell with both hands.
2. Hinge at the hips, keeping your back flat and core tight, as you swing the kettlebell back between your legs.
3. Drive through your hips to swing the kettlebell up to shoulder height, squeezing your glutes at the top.
4. Let the kettlebell swing back down, controlling the movement with your core.

As a kid he played multiple sports from baseball to soccer, including earning a college scholarship for soccer. In the early 2000's he signed up for a Tough Man Competition which made him fall in love with the sport of boxing. The decision to start a family stopped him from continuing to box. He never found any sport or exercise that compared to the competition and training he did while boxing. Until his wife took him into a CrossFit gym in 2010, it took two more classes to hook him in; since then he never misses a class.
