Today, fellow Rotarians Chuck Fitzgerald, Sgt., Fleet Marine Force and George Wheeler, Ret. CDR, Navy were honored among other veterans. Each of these heroes had his name added to the Veterans Honor Wall at Rio Vista Community Park, Peoria. We thank you both for your service to our country and we are so privileged to know you!

He will be presenting via Zoom and will speak on the current situation in Afghanistan. Keith has a lengthy and personal involvement with Afghanistan, and this promises to be an exciting presentation.

Rotary ramps up COVID-19 vaccination efforts Rotary clubs around the world are mobilizing in their communities to support the introduction and delivery of COVID-19 vaccinations. Rotary leaders are urging members to connect with their local health agencies to determine how Rotary can support COVID-19 vaccine efforts.

We are so excited to host the 3rd Annual Pursuing Peace Conference online on September 18th. We have an amazing slate of guest speakers who will share their thoughts on how "Our Organizations can be Better Platforms for Peace." The conference is free if you enter the code "PositivePeace" while registering at www.pursuingpeace.org. While there, you can also purchase raffle tickets for an artistic peace pole; 1 for $10, 3 for $25, 8 for $50, or 20 for $100. Raffle proceeds will fund a peace space within an accessible playground in Peoria.

Join us this Friday morning at 7:00 a.m. at Brother's Restaurant in Peoria to hear Donna O'Donnell Figurski speak about "Prisoners without Bars: A Caregiver’s Tale." She lives in Surprise, Arizona, where she is a caregiver for her husband, David, who suffered from a traumatic brain injury and never fully recovered. Donna's book chronicles her journey as a caregiver, but it's also a story of love and finding hope even in the most dire of circumstances.
