On Monday we finished up our Seedfolks project by having an event to celebrate all of the kids’ hard work. Throughout the summer, they were able to successfully grow and harvest a variety of vegetables while learning the value of community and nutrition! Over the last 30 years, Gloria Tillman has impacted hundreds of lives through her work in our Youth Program, Sunday Meals Program, and retired daycare. So, when she left Neighborhood House because of illness, we knew we had to do something to celebrate her. Yesterday morning, our Youth Program, current and previous NH staff, and our friends at Big Brothers Big Sisters came together to show Gloria how much we appreciate her with flowers, balloons, and a parade. Thank you, Gloria, for all you have done for Neighborhood House and the Peoria Community; your caring nature and generosity deserve this kind of celebration every day.
