Happy National Tattoo Day! Thinking about getting some new ink? Here are some warning signs to look for when searching for a studio to do your next tattoo!
1. Tattoo studios must be able to show you their health inspection report from the previous 12 months. If they can’t do that, it might be time to look elsewhere!
2. Is the tattooing area sterile? Keep an eye out for food, drink, or pets in the tattooing area.
3. Does the artist wash their hands and use gloves? Tattooing is quite an invasive procedure. It’s not just ink that will get into you if proper sanitation procedures are not followed.
4. Does the artist use disposable ink caps? If your artist replenishes their tattoo gun direction from the ink bottles, you might be sharing more than just a favorite color with their past clients.
Comment and tag your favorite and safest tattoo shops down below!
Bonus tip: Follow your artist’s care instructions! Not only could lack of care ruin your sweet “I ❤️ MOM” tattoo, but not practicing proper after care can lead to serious infections.
