Troop 247 Perry

Tonight Troop 247 hosted it's last gathering. We held a Christmas party. Taylor Anne was voted to have the best Ugly Christmas Sweater. Maya was our best speed wrapper. And we concluded the evening with a gift exchange.

It's bittersweet knowing that we won't be hosting a meeting in January or that next December we won't have a party of our own..

Reminder it's time to start our recharter. If your scout wants to continue their adventure with Troop 247 in January, we will need $75 for national dues. This is not an amount the troop or council keeps. Thank you for your understanding.

spent the weekend having fun over at F.G.Lumpkin for the Shooting Sports Camporee. We had a great time and made some wonderful friends!

At 's Court of Honor, we recognized 2 scouts for earning rank. We also distributed 32 merit badges. We dined on pizza and marshmallows. Then washed it down with some soda. Our scouts are hard at work and celebrated their efforts.

Remember tonight's Court of Honor is bring your own chairs. Also, there was a consensus to do a $5 donation toward pizza and soda for celebration food. See you at 7!

Thursday night hosted their court of honor. It was an enjoyable evening acknowledging our scouts accomplishments, along with entertainment and refreshments.

Have I mentioned that has a ? No? Well, this week we've done archery, our Christmas party, and now? We are setting up for a camp out. At least, we enjoy spending time together, right?

We skated (some for the first time), we had a speed gift wrapping contest (Natalie McCarter won), we had food and music. We played the left right game for the white elephant gift, and Hunter helped keep us on track for the script...

Last night was working with again. We practiced our technique, learned to score, and finished the evening with a troop meal.

had another great evening with . This week we were short a couple of scouts, so we let Mr. Lee have a couple of shots. We addressed warm up, posture, reviewed range rules, and ended the evening with a troop dinner of Chicken tortilla soup.

Tonight visited to start the Archery merit badge. Bobby Slaton, a level 4 US Archery Coach took the time to introduce the scouts to archery, the range etiquette, and work with our scouts. We are incredibly grateful for his time and coaching. The scouts are already talking about the next visit.

This evening worked on lashing skills, played volleyball, and ended the night with pizza as a patrol dinner.

Next week, we start Archery and work on some basic scout skills.
