Fall into fall movement practice with Contemporary Modern Dance with Loren Groenendaal! This class runs Tuesdays 6:30–7:30 pm this October and December at Cardell, starting 10/1!

This unique offering uses imagery and anatomical cues to propel movement and understanding of the body. Combining influences from Modern Techniques, Release Technique, Bartenieff Fundamentals, Laban Movement Analysis, and more, this class provides opportunities to build coordination, harness strength, and explore one’s own movement interests. Flying Low with Albert Quesada will run Tuesdays 10-11:15 am, 9/17–12/17 this fall at Cardell!

This class builds upon David Zambrano’s flying low technique, which “focuses mainly on the dancer’s relationship with the floor. The class utilizes simple movement patterns that involve breathing, speed, and the release of energy throughout the body to activate the relationship between the center and the joints, moving in and out of the ground more efficiently by maintaining a centered state.“ In this class, we will explore Zambrano’s technique, learn the basic pathways, and embody the intricacies of its choreographic potential.

Stretch and Restore: Tracing Eutony with Silvana Cardell, Thursdays 6:30-7:30 pm this fall at Cardell! This restorative somatic work will free joints, improve flexibility, and release unwanted muscular tension. No dance experience is necessary. Bring a yoga mat, blanket or cozy layers, and tennis ball if you have. Unwind in deep relaxation!

Creative Dance for Ages 3-5 with teacher Loren Groenendaal runs Thursdays this fall from 5:30–6:15 pm! This is a drop off class which focuses on imagination, expressivity, and building students coordination. There is a discount upon enrolling two children, and registration ends 9/30!

Developed by the late Dr. Kariamu Welsh and practiced across the globe, this class is designed to build community with “an approach to movement that is wholistic, body centric, and organic.” All levels welcome!
