My name is Marilyn and I was admitted to ACCELerate Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Philadelphia to recover from hip fracture surgery. ACCELerate was highly recommended by those around me, so I knew it was the right fit. My favorite part about the facility is the Physical Therapy Team. They are beyond exceptional and unlike any other I have ever worked with. Since being admitted, I have improved dramatically. When I was first admitted to ACCELerate, I was extremely weak and could only walk a lap. Now, I am walking six laps, and I feel a major improvement in strength. I worked as a medical secretary, so I understand the value of great service - ACCELerate was phenomenal. I would highly recommend ACCELerate Philadelphia to others. 👍

I found out about ACCELerate through a hospital referral. I chose ACCELerate because of the hospital's recommendation, and it sounded like the best fit for me. I appreciate everyone's kindness and willingness to accommodate me. Although I have a chronic condition, I do feel better, and the positivity of the ACCELerate staff keeps me in good spirits. THE HISTORY OF 1526 LOMBARD STREET
In 1895, Frederick Douglass Memorial Hospital and Training School, originally Frederick Douglass Memorial Hospital and School for Nurses, opened in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at 1512 Lombard Street with 15 beds. It was the city's first hospital for African Americans and the second hospital in the United States for African Americans. In 1897, it graduated its first two nurses. It expanded and in 1948 merged with Mercy Hospital to form Mercy-Douglass Hospital in hopes of improving both of their financial conditions. Mercy-Douglas closed in 1973.

My name is Richard and I was admitted to ACCELerate Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Philadelphia after a skull fracture. I heard about ACCELerate through someone at the hospital who recommended ACCELerate for rehabilitation. The staff members here are very efficient and the facility is very well-run. I have improved tremendously since I was admitted. When I was first admitted to the facility, I could not eat, see, and had five word cognition. I also could not walk. After rehabbing at ACCELerate in Philadelphia, I can now walk without a walker, and I am speaking in full sentences. I am eating again and have regained most of my vision. I would highly recommend this ACCELerate to anyone in need of post-hospital rehabilitation. 💪

Yesterday, we celebrated another important milestone in Alzheimer’s treatment. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted traditional approval of donanemab, sold under the brand name Kisunla, for the treatment of people living with early symptomatic Alzheimer’s disease, which includes mild cognitive impairment and the mild dementia stage of Alzheimer’s disease, with confirmed amyloid plaques. This is the third FDA approval granted for an Alzheimer’s treatment that changes the underlying course of the disease. Learn more here. 👇
