Riverfront North Partnership
A non-profit working on the creation, activation and restoration of an 11-mile network of parks.
Our mission is to complete and sustain the riverfront trail and network of parks along the Delaware River that connects residents of urban neighborhoods to nature, offering unparalleled recreational, community building, and environmental education activities.
This Friday, 8/23, join Bria from Audubon Mid-Atlantic and Riverfront North Partnership for a freshwater mussel measuring event! Sign up to measure mussels in the Delaware River and connect with other water conservation enthusiasts.
This community science data is used to help guide their mussel propagation program: growing freshwater mussels and placing them within the Delaware River watershed for filtration and cleaner water for all.
Pre-registration is required and this program has been designed for adult volunteers. We'll meet at the pavilion at Pennypack on the Delaware at noon! Sign up at riverfrontnorth.org/events

Heat wave tip: hang out at your local park under the shade of some trees!
It looks like the worst of the heat wave is breaking (for now...), but the Riverfront North Greenway is a great option if you're looking to beat the heat and still enjoy the outdoors.
Trees are beneficial in so many ways, one being that they cool down cities a significant amount. By casting shade and releasing water v***r, they offer relief from some of those more sweltering days. Combine that with the cool breeze coming off the Delaware River, the parks along the Greenway make for a fantastic summer hangout spot 🌳✨
Never been to the Greenway? Plan your visit now at riverfrontnorth.org/visit

Our Story
Riverfront North Partnership started as an idea of former Congressman Bob Borski in the late 1990s. He envisioned the miles of vacant industrial property along the Delaware River, north of Center City, being transformed into a regional trail and park network for the Philadelphia community. The Delaware River City Corporation (d/b/a Riverfront North Partnership) was founded in 2004 as the nonprofit organization tasked with the goal of realizing this mission and began with the belief that every Philadelphian should have direct access to their riverfront.
Riverfront North Partnership leads the implementation of the trail from design and construction to full activation and stewardship. We work closely with the City of Philadelphia to acquire, build, and manage 11 miles of trail and 8 riverfront parks. The trail is currently 65% built. With several new segments and connectors in final design, we see the dream for a continuous river trail in Northeast Philadelphia – and it’s role as part of larger regional and national trail systems – becoming a reality in the near future.
In addition to the creation of the trail, shoreline restoration initiatives are revitalizing stretches of the river that have long been burdened by heavy urban industrialization. The addition of full-time program, communications, and stewardship staff in 2016 has increased our capacity to attract more people to their river and grow partnerships, including schools, job-training programs, Friends groups, and environmentally-based nonprofits. All year long Riverfront North Partnership hosts a variety of events including volunteer clean-ups, outdoor movie nights, performances, a Greenway 5K, yoga, as well as kayak and bike rides. Riverfront North Partnership will continue to contribute to the Philadelphia river renaissance and work towards the completion of the 11-mile greenway in the coming years.
