The PAC returns to the historic Franklin Inn Club for a special four night only event!

Join Philly favorites Damon, Kittson, and Frank as they collaborate on this salon reading.

A husband and wife with a rocky marriage approach their 25th wedding anniversary. Living isolated on an island, their vitriol towards each other forces their own children to take sides. When a cousin comes to visit, plots are hatched and untoward alliances forged. A dark psychological comedy about the unfairness of divorce, child custody, this is pure Strindberg in his emotionally wracked, brilliant best.

Choice of one wine, beer or non-alcoholic beverage included in full price ticket!

Visit bit.ly/pacdance for tickets and more info!

Announcing PAC's 24/25 Season!

This season we are thrilled to be collaborating with a whole passle of amazing artists and companies. From Revolution Shakespeare and The R18 Collective to Carpenters' Hall and the Franklin Inn Club, this is a season of exciting partnerships.

*September/October - Dance of Death by August Strindberg*
Featuring Philly favorites Kittson O'Neill, Frank X, and PAC's own Damon Bonetti, this vicious comedy is a gleefully venomous look at a marriage teetering at the edge of oblivion.

*December - Sir Anthony Love by Thomas Southerne*
Part of our Venture Reading Series, this romping 17th-century comedy is a witty exploration of the gaps between appearance and reality. Directed by Andrew Watring.

*April - Queen Margaret by Jeanie O'Hare*
Part of our Venture Reading Series, this adaptation of Shakespeare looks at the Wars of the Roses through the eyes of Margaret of Anjou. Directed by Abby Weissman in co-production with Revolution Shakespeare.

*Spring - Cato: Remixed by Eli Lynn*
Based on Joseph Addison's Cato, this adaptation of George Washinton's favorite play explores the gulf between history and myth, and how we create the people we pedestal. On location in historic Carpenter's Hall.

Can his vision of a perfect, scientific world bring people together? Or will his obsession destroy everyone around him?

As part of Philly Theatre Week, PAC presents our Spring Venture Reading Series:

The Lady's Not For Burning
by Christopher Fry
directed by Jenny Bennett () ❤️
April 8th at 7pm

Thomas, a cynical soldier exhausted by the corruption of the world, stumbles into a town in the middle of a frenzied witch hunt. Despite his world weariness, Thomas tries (in his own strange way) to save the condemned Jennet by marching into the mayor's home and demanding to be hangied himself. When the mayor refuses, the soldier goes to greater and greater lengths to be difficult -- after all, how ridiculous to refuse to hang a man who wants to be hanged, only to kill a guiltless woman who doesn't want to die.

Ironic, absurd, and deeply heartfelt, Christopher Fry's curious rom-coe is set "more or less" in 1400s england, and asks the question: in the maelstrom of a world beset by righteous mobs, power-hungry leaders, and terrible violence, what can a single person do? A play of splendid poetry and sheer high spirits.

As always, tickets to our Reading Series are TOTALLY AND UTTERLY FREE!!! Visit the link in our bio to save your spot.

Meet the cast of CHILDREN OF THE SUN!

Rehearsals start in a week, and we can't wait to jump into the process with this amazing group of people!

03/13/2024

There's still time to snag the EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT for PAC's Classic Stages class this May!

The Art of Violence for Modern Actors - taught by Barrymore-nominated fight director Eli Lynn - will teach the basics of the most common onstage violence and explore bridging the gap between ABC's of safe technique and fully embodied acting of violent stories.

Topics covered will include:

Basic Firearm Safety, Consent & Boundaries, Basics of slapping/punching, Chokes, Dragging, Falls, Hair pulls, Intro to Death, Looking good with a weapon, Shoves, Struggles - and more!

"I never want fights to look like 'stage combat' - I want the safety hidden in the story. Nothing gets me more excited than helping actors wring every bit of intense, specific storytelling juice out of a moment of stage violence, from full-on brawls to single slaps. This class is for everyone from experienced actor combatants to actors just looking to add tools and confidence to their movement repertoire. Because it's not just the Mercutios and MacDuffs who experience violence on stage!" - Eli

Actors of all genders, ages, body types, and stage combat abilities are encouraged to apply.

Register now at https://philartists-collective.ticketleap.com/the-art-of-violence-for-modern-actors/
