An authentic French bistrot in the heart of Philadelphia. In late 2020, we temporarily closed our doors due to the effects of COVID-19.
Bistrot La Minette is the realization of owner Peter Woolsey's dream: a restaurant that shares his love of the authentic bistrot experience with his fellow Philadelphians. We are devoted to serving you superb food and wine, enhanced by the company of your companions, and we strive to evoke your fondest memories - or dreams! - of French bistrot dining. We will return, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

We will NOT be
offering food service
in our bar area
tonight, July, 27, 2024.
Our seating in
the bar area remains
first come, first serve
for drink service.
Thank you.
We have four services left before Bistrot La Minette closes its doors. Tonight, our bar seating will be available on a first come, first serve basis, but we will NOT be serving food at the bar. We appreciate your understanding as we all say goodbye to Bistrot La Minette!
We are grateful for all your support as we make our way into our last week of service. However, tonight we are unable to offer food service in our bar area. Please still join us for wine or cocktails!
Please forgive any confusion, but today, 7/13, we are NOT offering food service in our bar area seating tonight. Bar area food service will presumably resume when we reopen for service on Tuesday, July 16th. Thank you and please join us for a cocktail or final wine before our final service, July 31st.
All guests in our bar area will unfortunately not have the chance to dine with us this weekend. While you are still welcome on a first come, first served basis for a cocktail or some wine, we are unable to accommodate food service at our bar area seating this weekend (7/12-7/13) We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate our last few weeks!
We will be closed tomorrow, July 4th, and will reopen for service July 5th at 5:30 PM. We are no longer taking reservations, but our bar seating remains first come, first served.
Thank you so much for your support in helping us be fully booked out until our last day of service, Wednesday, July 31st. We hope to end with a bang. Please continue tagging us in your Bistrot memories old and new, and thank you for ending this chapter with us.
We appreciate your patronage in these last few weeks, but we will no longer be offering Happy Hour. You are still able to join us at our bar, but there will no longer be a happy hour menu, effective immediately. Reservations are strongly encouraged for the last few weeks of service and they are available via OpenTable. Thank you.
Words from owner Peter Woolsey. Bistrot La Minette will host its final service on Wednesday, July 31st.
“Dear guests, patrons, friends,
It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing the closure of Bistrot La Minette. It is the end of an era not just for myself but for so many others with deep connections to the Bistrot. I started the Bistrot when I was just 30 and sixteen years later I have spent a third of my life cooking in the heat, cooling off in the walk-ins, organizing food storage, mentoring cooks and chefs, double checking invoices, telling dirty jokes, and managing the stress of being a restaurateur.
None of the success of the Bistrot would have been possible without my wife Peggy. She shared in all the successes but also had to endure all the pitfalls of restaurant ownership. For large swaths of time she was practically a single parent with a husband that could barely be conscious on his days off, always exhausted from the week. The mark she left on the design of the Bistrot is everywhere. While we were building the Bistrot she was very pregnant and had trouble sleeping through the night. I would wake up to sixty or more e-mails from her with photos of chairs, glasses, cutlery and paint colors. Bistrot’s authentic feel is entirely her doing. One of my fondest memories was in the months leading up to our opening sharing a bottle of rosé while our just-born infant son slept in his pack-and-play while we decided where to hang all the photos and decor in the restaurant. One of our blackboards still holds the French pronunciation lesson she gave our staff a week or so before opening. Her back-end support and love is the only reason I could have achieved this dream.”
Message continued in the slides.
