Northwood Academy staff deserve a fair union contract to ensure that unjust firings are put to an end. The staff, students, and community let it be known today- they deserve a seat at the table!

03/21/2023

Our newest chapter at Northwood Academy Charter School in Philadelphia is fighting to reinstate a beloved school counselor, Mr. Whitlatch, who was unfairly suspended.

Mr. Whitlatch's suspension is only the tip of the iceberg of the issues that need to be addressed to fix Northwood. The staff and students deserve a safe, stable, and welcoming school environment, and that's what our local stands for.

The staff, students, families, and community will be rallying at Northwood Park this Thursday, 3/23 at 3:30. Our treasurer, Collin McCann will be there and we hope you can join us!

"“Far too many young adults who go to college lack the means to do so: That’s why student debt has exploded to $1.7 trillion. Their debt sentence means they have little or no ability to start a family, buy a car or a house, or make other major life decisions. This action, coupled with the extension of the pause on loan payments, the changes to Public Service Loan Forgiveness, and remedies to the rip-offs at ITT Tech and Corinthian Colleges, will assist those crippled by a broken system."
