Great LRA class today! I’m so proud of all my clients for showing up and doing the work. It’s good to see you all after we’ve finished our private lessons putting the work in!
Training doesn’t stop when our contract runs out, it always continues, my goal is to give you the foundational tools and work you through the tuff stuff in order for you to take it away on your own!
Meet Bear! Bear learned place in 2.2 seconds, is full of energy and demands lots of attention! We’re going to work on his leash reactivity and over all engagement with his amazing people. They’ve laid a solid foundation for Bear and I’m looking forward to helping them through some of the tougher parts or training.
Harley!! I’m so excited to work with this lil lady. She’s a bit weary of new people and needs a big confidence boost! We already made some good progress just in our evaluation! See ya soon you lol mean mugger!
Big changes are coming for 2024! I have decided to change things up and do a total brand make over, including a name change. Now introducing “Good Company Canine”, where we will be offering pet sitting and dog walking services. We will still offer pet canine training on a limited basis.
My hope for this new year is to provide the pet owners of San Francisco with assistance in boarding and daily drop in services to help while@they are away from the home.
This includes:
- in (your) home over night pet sitting
- daily drop ins for feedings, medication, etc..
- canine walking services
- day training
If any of these interest you, please let me know! Good Company Canine will be taking on new clients beginning February.
Thanks so much for the support! 🐶
George! New client of the week and I’m so excited to work with him and his dedicated person. George had a ton of energy and just needs some help shaping behaviors and getting some more engagement around distractions. Welcome to the Refined K9 team!
I recently started volunteering for a non-profit called Guide Dogs for the Blind and I’m really looking forward to spending time with some cute lil puppies! My position is Brooding socialization, which basically means hanging out with the Mamas and giving them time away from their young puppies shortly after they’ve given birth.
Guide dogs is currently searching for puppy raisers to help foster puppies until they are ready to begin training and placement with their new home. Check them out if you think you would be interested!
New client alert! Meet Rua, a spicy gal who loves to bark, bark and bark! Rua struggles with some leash reactivity and over all setting in just about any situation. I am looking forward to helping Rua and her person learn the skills to have a less stressful life!
So excited to bring Betty to the Valley Dog team and help her an her owner with their walks and over all issues with barking in the home and backyard.
Welcome Emma to the club! I’m excited to work with this young shephard mix. She’s very smart, driven, sweet and learning so much about the world and her new home! Thanks for the trust I’m excited to get Emma to off leash freedom in the city!
I’ve been working on a group class to help you and your dog practice neutrality in a group setting. Please email me at [email protected] to see if your dog is ready to join the Mindful Mutts hang!
First class date and time to be announced soon!
All dogs must have a good foundation of training. Any behavioral issues must be disclosed prior to joining class.
Hello to our new client Kona! This sheepadoolde has a great foundation of training. I’m looking forward to helping his person fill in the gaps and get Kona to a place where he can comfortably exist on the city streets.
Lexi! I’ve been having a great time with Lexi and her people. Lexi has a bit of leash reactivity when she sees other dogs. By teaching a solid heel command and showing her what to do instead, we’ve been able to make some big changes!
Her people are working hard on creating neutrality among triggers working with her place command near some distractions as well. Counter conditioning her response to stimuli is the goal here!
She should be able to join our LEA class soon!
Meet Panda! Panda has been with his family for a while, but can’t seem to settle with strangers around.
We’re working with Panda on his fear of people coming into his home by building structure and showing him what ti do instead of barking and lunging at guest.
We’re taking this one slow, I’m excited to see Panda become more confident throughout our training!
New client alert!
Echo is a new pup added to the home. She’s got a bit of leash reactivity and is still acclimating to her surroundings.
I’m very excited to help these new dog owners and Echo live a fulfilled life here in San Francisco!
New client comin in hot! Olive is such a great pup already. She’s 5 months old and her people have put in the work! Managing puppy life is HARD and I love it when I get to come in and out a nice shine on what has already been done.
Olive needs a lot of help engaging around distractions and leash pulling. Her obedience is great, but she just can’t quite think straight when I’m the wilds of San Francisco.
Looking forward to helping this family walk the streets of SF with confidence!!

When you’ve got goals to bring your dog out with you 🐾🐾
Had a great time training with these guys! Hendy is an aweosme pup who gets pretty nervous when his owners walk away from him, so we brought his place cot out to help him be confident and he did great!
I can’t always be there, but I do everything I can to make sure my clients have all the tools and knowledge they need to move on with out me and keep up training.
Training never really ends! Thanks guys! Another one in the books with
My boy Krew learned to place in like, 30 seconds. He’s so smart and ready to work. I love seeing how he changes with the more people moderators he feels. He’s got a lot of drive for a big city, but he’s well on his way.
A beautiful day Im the City to train and Mr. Percy’s first real long distance recall! I’m so proud of these guys.
Update: Osco and I made stoop kids status. We’ve got some more clients coming up for ya too! It’s been a journey and I’m lucky to have this sweet boi by my side.

Mornings, ammirite?
Benji my boy! .buddy is a skittish young pup, but had a LOT of drive. Living in S.F. Can have a lot of challenges for a working dog like him, his guardian is doing a great job at working to fulfill his needs and know how to correctly communicate with him.
When I first met Benji, he wouldn’t come near me, but finally yesterday I got all the puppy love I’ve been waiting for! Just like people, some dogs take time to come around. The more positive experiences he has with building trust, the better!
A sunny city day and I just got this hat to match it! Check them out for some great tips!
Osco and I are wrapping up our first round of clients in with and it’s been so much fun 🥳
That’s a wrap for Rosie! We’ve only had a week together but I’ve really grown to enjoy this girls company. She’s sweet, mellow and always curious.
Have fun in Ireland Rosie!
A little birds eye view of Jack heeling. You can see him paying attention to me and also looking around to see what’s going on. I’m using the chain very lightly to remind him to pay attention in case he gets distracted. I’m not hanging it, there’s no constant pressure, there’s zero pain, just quick reminder here and there to stay in heel.
We avoided harsh conflict by learning with treats and little distraction, then slowly increased distraction. For nervous boys like Jack, it’s important to build him up, not shut him down, which can happen easily because he’s so afraid of everything. The more direction he has, the more confident he feels.
Clear communication is how you and your pup have a good relationship. Let me show you how!
New client! Im so happy working with Hudson and his guardian Kerri. Hudson is about 6 months old and starting to gain a lot of confidence. He’s super smart snd already has learned so much.
A little puppy love on a cloudy day.
My second lesson with Hope and she is just the sweetest thing! My client has a son who I worked with today on learning how to keep Hope from nipping and jumping on him. He did so good! We focused on her come to sit and keeping the leash loose with her attention on him.
I can’t wait to see how things progress over the next few weeks!
We’re out here supporting our local friends 🐶 They’ve got a walk up window and some really tasty treats! @ Coronado Historic District, Phoenix
