Round of applause to our guy Ethan 👏

He took on the challenge of coming to Novel for 30 straight days for a chance to create his own ice cream flavor.

And we finally perfected what we’re calling - Ethan’s Creamy Surprise.

It’s an Ube-based ice cream made with Halaya swirl, marshmallow pieces, and chocolate drizzle.

We’re dropping this in style with live DJ’s from 8-10pm TONIGHT ONLY at both our Phoenix and Mesa shops.

Shoutout to .j.co and to our DJ’s and .vii.

See you tonight!

SOLD OUT - ... and in our latest local collab, Frylock meets Master Shake.
Frites Street Arizona French Fry - A french fry base crafted with locally made Frites Street premium fries, heavy cream, and a dash of salt. Add crunchy fry pieces & handmade Embers chocolate dipped gaufrette garnish while supplies last.
Frosty Shake - A milk chocolate shake base made with a touch of pure vanilla + a hint of malt.
Toddlers live by two rules:
1. Everything solid grabbed with the hands goes directly into the mouth... edible or not.
2. Everything that isn't solid is merely a dipping sauce for the thing being held that will soon be in the mouth.
We are born with an instinctive desire to take one thing and dip it into another. We never TRULY grow out of this. Life begins, we put soiled items inside of our faces, and the rest of life is a battery of trials and errors until we arrive at something like fries dipped in a milkshake.
Until recently, executing the act of lathering fries with ice cream in a public place meant also executing your public image. An entire generation of pioneering souls lied to their loved ones regarding their whereabouts, turned off their phones, parked at the dark end of a Wendy's parking lot facing a dumpster, and dined in shame so we could make this very public post today.
We stand on the shoulders of yesterday's giants so today our fry ice cream can stand on the shoulders of our frosty ice cream.
Sadly, we tend to wait until society tells us it's okay to enjoy something before we allow ourselves to enjoy it in the company of others. It's not fun to be ashamed of the things you enjoy. Just ask everyone who owned a Creed CD from 1997-2001.
Are we the first to make an ice cream inspired by fries dipped in a milkshake? No. But where we feel all others have gone wrong is in pre-mixing the shake/fries and serving it in a single batch. That misses the point. This isn't just another "food hack". It's a ritual. And combining them in advance robs you of the very thing that makes this pairing so special.
We have Fry. We have Shake. Combine at will.
Shamelessly scooping til we sell out.
🙏 to Gabe Williams for bringing good things + people together

SOLD OUT - Friends. With benefits, for everyone.
🧂🍪 Myke's Salted Chocolate Chip Cookie - A chocolate chip cookie butter base made with Myke's famously addictive sea salt dark chocolate chip cookies and Myke's handmade cookie dough, garnished with a pinch of coarse sea salt.
🍍🍯 Myke's Pineapple Hot Honey Sorbet - A fresh pineapple sorbet infused, whipped, and ribboned with Myke's legendary house-made hot honey.
When we were in 3rd grade, a kid by the name of Kenneth Tibbits brought his Gameboy to school. Having developed no social awareness at the age of eight years, we walked right up to Kenneth during recess and asked if we could borrow his Gameboy for the weekend even though we'd never spoken to him prior. Kenneth, having no sense of personal responsibility at the age of eight years, happily obliged.
We had the best weekend of our short lives. Kenneth was of course immediately grounded and never spoke to us again.
Recently, while hanging out with our buddies Cider Corps , we were introduced to Myke's Pizza where we had a life-altering, wood fired, pineapple hot honey pizza followed by the best chocolate chip cookie we'd ever eaten in our lives.
Having not gained any social awareness throughout our lifetime and up to this point, rather than introducing ourselves, we immediately asked Myke if we could borrow his cookies, pineapple, and hot honey. Myke, clearly having the same generous disposition as a third grader replied "Of course!" rather than serving up a well-deserved "Do I know you?" or a "You're not allowed back there." or "Stop filling those bags with cookies." or "If you leave with those bottles of honey, I'm going to call the cops."
Through Myke's good nature and our inability to see something we like and not ask to borrow it, these two amazing limited batch flavors were born. If Myke, like Kenneth, never speaks to us again, at least we (and you) are about to have the best weekend of our lives.
Scooping something old (award winning staples), something new (two feature flavors), something borrowed (read: stolen from Myke), and something blue (Cookie Monster) all weekend long.

SOLD OUT - It's our birthday. So we're brunching like a 6 year old.
Butter Basted Strawberry Poptart - A poptart pastry base infused w/real butter, swirled frosting + ribbons of strawberry filling. Top w/poptart crumbles at no charge.
Iced Cherry Toaster Strudel - A puff pastry base w/Amarena cherries, handmade Bordeaux Cherry reduction + streaks of white icing. Extra icing drizzle at no charge.
In the 90s, the U.S. Census Bureau wasted untold millions to survey household incomes when a single question could have determined the socio-economic classification of every home in our country.
"What's your current breakfast pastry situation?"
☐ Pillsbury Toaster Strudel
☐ Kellogg's Pop Tart
☐ Unfrosted "Toast'Em Pop Ups"
This is the American caste system.
We're not saying you didn't struggle if your freezer had strudels in it, we're just saying the "Pop Ups" kid definitely wore hand-me-downs.
How did those of us born in a world where Toaster Strudels exist, while raised in homes where they didn't, adapt to Poptart predestination? Butter.
People of limited means always buy the base model and add the upgrades themselves. Buy Corn Flakes... add spoonfuls of sugar at home. Buy $1 Totino's mini pizza... add a metric ton of shredded cheese at home. In fact, we didn't realize rich kids didn't have to add sugar to their cereal until a sleepover at our friend Ricky's house in 6th grade. His dad was a dentist. One who looked at us like we were psychotic for requesting granulated sugar with our Cocoa Puffs.
When things are invented out of necessity by the underprivileged, well-to-do folks eventually steal the idea and present it as something new and trendy. TikTok didn't popularize "Food Hacks". Poverty did.
And one of the greatest food hacks ever is melted butter on a Poptart. Born from a desire to live a Target lifestyle on a Walmart budget, this aftermarket pastry paint job elevates off-brand tarts to god-teir status.
Pillsbury Toaster Strudels are amazing, but they're also delicious little nepo babies. You can't claim you didn't benefit from your Dad's money when his last name is literally "Dough Boy".
Scooping calorie-filled class warfare all week long.

We're back to help you cope with all the things 2022 did to you.

SOLD OUT - The world's worst holiday dessert finally gets the reboot it deserves.
Holiday Froot Cake - A Froot Loops cake batter base infused with a full bowl of cereal in every triple scoop, layered with Little Debbie White Christmas Tree cakes & topped w/crushed Froot Loops.
Iced Gingerbread Cookie Butter - A cookie butter base made with finely ground gingerbread + brown sugar, ribboned with vanilla icing & gingersnap cookies.
It's that time of year. Not the Holidays specifically, but the time when small-talk enters full cliché mode for the safety of others.
Like a body of water after global warming, discourse is unnaturally shallow this time of year. Because in both conversation and water, the less deep it is, the less likely it will hurt people.
An ugly-sweatered evening doesn't always have to result in someone ugly-crying. But some see holiday gatherings as opportunities to audibly live-Tweet their most polarizing opinions. Often with a blood-alcohol level equal to the percentage of people who agree with them on Facebook.
We can have a cocktail without turning the season of giving into one of over-sharing. But in the wrong hands, a Vodka-Cranberry isn't a festive beverage, it's a bellboy pulling the psychological baggage from the trunkspace of someone's mind and setting it on the curb for all to see.
Our advice? Approach people who mix booze with sensitive topics the same way you do a stray dog with a limp. Equal parts fear and empathy. Then use a baby voice to coax them into a car driven by anyone who can help them find their way home.
It's the most wonderful time of the year. But for those with no social awareness, it's a time to distribute more triggers than an NRA convention in Texas.
So, let's all agree to stick to surface-level topics. Like traffic, weather, and how weird it is we live in a first world country where the cost of a Taylor Swift concert via Ticketmaster is worthy of congressional anti-trust intervention but the cost of life saving insulin isn't.
Maybe avoid that last one.
We fixed Fruit Cake this year. We can't fix everything.
Stuffing mouths with donuts and ice cream so nothing hurtful comes out of them all week long.

SOLD OUT - Your new favorite celebrity couple.
✌New flavors...
Raspberry Buttermilk Beignet - A buttermilk beignet base made with Cafe du Monde beignet mix, sweet buttermilk, fried beignets, and raspberry sauce. Top with a raspberry drizzle and dusting of powdered sugar at no charge.
Mango Rice Pudding - A classic rice pudding base made with sweetened milk, cane sugar, and white rice custard ribboned with mango variegate. Drizzle with vanilla-sweetened coconut condensed milk sauce at no extra charge.
Watch your step. Because you might trip over the hill we're about to die on. Here goes...
Donuts without holes are superior donuts.
Huge surprise from the place that sells donuts without holes, right? We get it. But we stand by our convictions. Maple Bars, Long Johns, Malasadas, Jelly Filled, Fritters, Eclairs, and Sopaipillas truly maximize the surface-area-to-satisfaction ratio of fried dough.
This section was reserved for a bit about why we think Cinnamon Rolls can also technically qualify as donuts, but we believe there are already too many wars on this planet to start another one.
Instead, we'll travel to a neighboring hill worth dying on...
The average powdered donut tastes marginally better than drywall, has roughly the same moisture content, and finishing one will leave you thirstier than Adam Levine's DMs when his wife is asleep.
Enter the savior of all powdered donuts: The beignet. A holy trinity of fried bread. It is a "choux pastry" made with a high-moisture dough, free of holes, and is traditionally served under a pile of Charlie Sheen's second favorite white powder.
Adding to the beauty of the beignet, they can be (and often are) stuffed with fresh fruit, creams, and other sweet fillings.
We're not saying ring donuts are bad. But it's odd that holes in donuts exist by design and donut holes also exist as a separate item sold by the same company that put the hole there. I.e. an incomplete product whose missing parts are marketed as an innovative add on.
The CEO of Apple must be a HUGE fan of ring donuts.
Filling the void with ice cream and (fully assembled) donuts all weekend long.
