serving up late night native american cuisine in downtown Phoenix popping up at local establishments. a product of the diné survival of genocide.
frybread also known as hwééldi bááh is a southwest delicacy popularized by state fairs and intertribal pow wows. we use blue bird flour from cortez, colorado in our vegan frybread. made fresh to order as well as our chilaqueles made with blue corn chips. we have vegan options, gluten free options, we make our own pickles, cucumber, jalapeño, and red onion. when possible we use local ingredients and produce.

Wild brush fire possibly started by a thrown out cigarette butt on to the medium around sunset rest area has the southbound traffic closed for over 7 hours now with no estimated time of reopening. Ugh. So wasn’t ready to sleep in the car may have to backtrack to payson. Which adds another hour and mountain curves. Not to mention the spillover traffic. Guess I’ll make a decision after some grub.
There are signs everywhere!

So mom and I are in the parking lot at Walmart. Patiently waiting for one of the handicapped parking spots to open, this European American woman walks out and gets into her car. Seemingly nice, with her little old lady bag and obviously not Walmart clothes. I’m like cool, spot scored. Turn on my intent signal and then wait, and wait, and wait, and wait some more. Finally like after what felt like a few days, she then finally drives out of the parking spot and so I waved to what I thought was her waving at me. Alas as she drives by she was actually flipping me off, and not just a subtle here’s my finger, but one with some visible force of rage, shaking it like it was doing my soul some damage. The way a puppy would latch onto a toy and tug until their teeth fall out. So yeah. That happened. Hashtag Middle America
Le sigh.
Hamburger is just unimaginative meatloaf. . .
