Student Night 03/16/2023

Attention Students! Deadline extended for student night abstracts until April 1st!

Each spring, the Pittsburgh Geological Society co-sponsors a meeting to showcase student research in the tri-state area. With assistance from the American Society of Civil Engineers Geo-Institute and the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists, our members judge student abstracts and select three to give oral presentations, while several others are invited to present posters on their research.

This year's Student Night will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 in person. Students doing original undergraduate or graduate research in any field of earth science are encouraged to apply (instructions for submitting an abstract are included below). Presenting your research will not only give you invaluable experience in public speaking and networking with professional geoscientists, it will also allow you to list a professional presentation on your resume and possibly qualify for a cash award.

Each of the three sponsoring societies will select one student paper (graduate or undergraduate) for oral presentation. Additional abstracts will be accepted for poster presentations. All presenters will receive certificates of recognition and appreciation, as well as a complimentary dinner.

Fund submission information at the link below!
