Don't forget to like our new parish grouping page for all of the latest updates! Here's a reminder that, as of this weekend, the Saturday evening Mass time is changing at Saint Mary of the Mount.
REMINDER: Beginning this Saturday, April 10 (the Second Sunday of Easter), Saint Mary of the Mount’s Saturday evening Mass time will change from 5 to 5:30 pm.
The decision to change Saint Mary of the Mount’s Mass time was made in order to provide additional support to the clergy team, should one of our priests need to celebrate both Masses in our parish grouping on one weekend. Currently, due to the 4 pm Mass time at Saint Adalbert, there is too little of a window for this to happen. Furthermore, moving the Saturday evening Mass time to 5:30 provides additional time in between the last event of the church on Saturdays, which is typically a 3 pm wedding. This will allow for more sanitizing time, and a larger time frame for all 3 pm wedding guests to leave our church premises.
This change will take place at Saint Mary of the Mount Church, and will move to 5:30 pm from Saturday, April 10 onward.
Remember to head on over to our new page for the most up-to-date information, and we hope to have you pray with us this Holy Week!

“If There Be Tears”, the musical selection offered at the Preparation of the Gifts throughout all of Lent in our parish, is a piece written by Steven C. Warner. Steven Warner is the founder of the Notre Dame University Folk Choir, and currently works at the Notre Dame Newman Centre for Faith and Reason (Dublin, Ireland). Steven wrote “If There Be Tears” for Mary, Queen of Peace Parish and dedicated the piece to Amanda, our Director of Music!

It's Ash Wednesday! And so we begin our time of Lenten deepening. While so much is still different in our world, we remember the three primary practices that help us draw closer to our Lord and who he calls us to be:
*PRAYER (commit to more and better time with our Lord)
*FASTING (say no to more of the things that numb you)
*ALMSGIVING (hear the cries of the poor and do something about them)

Catholics! It's Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday/Carnival! As we prepare for Lent beginning tomorrow, let's remember this other important part of our liturgical year. Our Church is all about entering into deep realities and finding balance. Before we embark upon penance, we let out our sillies. Take some time for fun and festivity today, so you can be ready for the intentionality of tomorrow.
