Some details shots of a new work on paper. It is layers of oil paint over top of watercolors on arches Huile paper with some copper leafing. It takes a while to build up the saturation of color that I like on this paper, but it creates has a really nice quality once it gets there. So far, I think this one is finished, but will see if it stays that way tomorrow.

Finishing up last two paintings for “Light Weight”, the next exhibit . I am always down to the wire getting stuff done, but I’m feeling really good about the paintings now.

For this upcoming exhibit at BoxHeart Gallery, I wanted to include artwork by artists that not only inspire me but also have unique interpretations of light and weight in their art. I’m honored to exhibit my paintings alongside artwork by Mary Barensfeld, Clara Fialho, Stephanie Martin, and Belgin Yücelen.

Late afternoon light in the studio

Working out painting for upcoming group group show in March.

Sometimes things from one painting continues to work out in the next canvas. In the end, they were just better as a diptych.

Getting things work out on a few smaller works. I am pretty happy how things worked out on this one, just a few more things to sharpen up. Some detail up shots too.

Posted • Come and experience Art Exhibition entitled “Oil and Water” this week! Last day to see the work is Friday!! His beautiful flowing shapes, layers, colors, accents of gold, and custom frames create breathtaking imagery that would bring life and excitement to any wall in a home or office.

This show is one of Josh’s first explorations of using paper instead of panel making this current exhibition very cost effective. If you have ever dreamed of owning a Hogan original, now is a great time to begin a collection!

Josh is a local artist from Bloomfield, PA. Josh and his wife Nicole own and operate along with offering custom framing. His personal studio is located in the same building as the gallery where you can view his work in process before it gets shipped/sent to galleries or purchased by personal collectors!
