🚨Second Avenue Commons homeless shelter is reopening in downtown Pittsburgh.🚨
People currently staying at Pittsburgh Mercy’s temporary emergency shelter will return to Second Avenue Commons on October 28. The Engagement Center at Second Avenue will reopen on October 29 with expanded hours of 7 AM to 7 PM, 7 days a week. The medical clinic is expected to reopen at Second Avenue on October 29 as well, with hours Monday - Friday 9 AM to 5 PM.

Today we are launching the first Allegheny County Elections “I Voted” Sticker Design Contest!
Students residing in Allegheny County and enrolled in grades 9 – 12 are encouraged to submit their designs for the next “I Voted” sticker for our county’s elections starting in 2025.
All entries must be submitted electronically no later than Friday, December 20, 2024, at 11:59 pm. Designs must contain the phrase “I Voted” on a 2-inch circular design, be nonpartisan, and must not include copyright images or trademarks.

This Recovery Month was a busy one! Our Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Services made appearances at local events, gave presentations and training to our staff, participated in the Pittsburgh Recovery Walk and held a Recovery Fun Day Celebration with an activities and an art show that celebrated the creativity and resilience of individuals on their recovery journey.
