Plainfield Parks and Recreation is thrilled to offer four single-day camps throughout the school year, perfectly aligned with Plainfield Community School Corporation’s Teacher-In-Service Days. These fun-filled camps run from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and are packed with games, park activities, crafts, and more!

Despite the weather, programming at Outdoor Splash Island is still on for this afternoon, July 9th. The following classes and swim lessons will continue as scheduled in the outdoor pool:

• Recreational Swim will close at 4:00pm
• Lap Swim / Swim Lessons 4:00pm -6:00pm
• Aqua-X 6:00pm-7:00pm

We heard your feedback! In response to the indoor pool closure, the Plainfield Parks & Recreation Department has updated the Water Programming Schedule to move activities to Outdoor Splash Island. Many of you asked for more water walking opportunities, and we're pleased to announce additional times starting Monday.

Additionally, we’ve received an update from the construction team indicating that the indoor pool will not reopen until mid-August. The current schedule runs through August 4th, and we will release an extended Programming Schedule to offer more options while the indoor pool remains closed. Splash Island Outdoor Waterpark only accepts tickets and passes issued directly by Splash Island and the Plainfield Parks and Recreation Department. We do not accept resale tickets or those issued by other organizations or promoters.

Additionally, there has been some conflicting information regarding a party on Saturday, July 6th. We want to clarify that there is no booked buy-out for Saturday, July 6, 2024.

As a reminder, here are our hours for the long weekend:

-Thursday, July 4th: 10am-11am (members), 11am-6pm (general public)
-Friday, July 5th: 10am-11am (members), 11am-8pm (general public)
-Saturday, July 6th: 10am-6pm
-Sunday, July 7th: 12pm-6pm

We hope you and your family have a great Fourth of July! As a reminder, in observance of the holiday, the Richard A. Carlucci Recreation & Aquatic Center will close at 6pm tomorrow.

🏊‍♀️ Relax and cool off at Splash Island Waterpark! Open 10am-11am for members and 11am-6pm to the public.

🎆 Join us for Guilford Township’s 2024 Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza at Hummel Park, featuring one of Indiana’s best fireworks displays and a variety of fun activities for all ages. The event will be held from 5-10:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, at 1500 S. Center St., Plainfield. Enjoy free bounce houses, playgrounds, and the splash pad, along with a range of food vendors and food trucks.

🎸 At 7:30 p.m., enjoy Big Rosco and the Hammers at the Hummel Park Performing Arts Center. The fireworks display, sponsored by Guilford Township and the Town of Plainfield, will begin promptly at 9:55 p.m.

Indoor Pool Closure Effective July 1

Starting July 1, the indoor Splash Island waterpark will be closed for essential maintenance. This maintenance follows the recent expansion of our Splash Island Outdoor Waterpark and is part of our long-term improvement plan.

We recognize that this closure may disrupt your usual routines, and we appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to enhance our facilities.

The Plainfield Parks & Recreation Department is making efforts to reschedule and relocate many programs to the Outdoor Splash Island during this time. While some programs will still be affected, we are committed to finding suitable solutions for our patrons.

We wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for the 20th birthday celebration of the Richard A. Carlucci Recreation & Aquatic Center!

We started the day with delicious donuts, coffee, and Purdue Extension - Hendricks County's smoothie bike, and 2 cake-cutting ceremonies with Pelican Pete. It was heartwarming to see so many of you sign our birthday card, participate in free swim lessons as part of the World's Largest Swim Lesson Day, and enjoy the music from our DJ. The birthday party giveaways, games, and, of course, swimming added to the excitement.

Having Sherman from FOX59 join us on the longest day of the year, made our celebration even more memorable.

Thank you for being a part of this milestone event. We look forward to many more years of serving our wonderful community!
