Meet Mauricio, who is part of the NiCo program in La Paz, Honduras. Mauricio lives at his maternal grandmother's house with his mother, uncles, and two older brothers. His mother is a housewife, looking after the home and the needs of her children. Mauricio and his family are thankful for the encouragement he receives from the program.
Mauricio is known to be an active, social, and participative child, both in class and in everyday activities. He is quick to jump in when needed and engage with others. Mauricio is a hard working student in school, and he wants to grow in his language and speech. Apart from school, he loves fried chicken and his pet dog, Oso (or Bear, in English).
Please pray for his health and continued growth in his education and faith.

📢 STAFF INTRODUCTION - Christina George
Christina serves as one of our Mission Coordinators at Orphan Outreach. We are thankful she's part of the team. Learn more about Christina below:

Q: What does "restoring hope" mean to you?
A: The phrase "restoring hope" evokes the promise from Isaiah 61:3, where in our darkest moments, God assures us of beauty for ashes, the oil of gladness for mourning, and the garment of praise instead of a spirit of heaviness. This hope we have in Jesus gives us the strength to persevere through times of despair and confusion, ultimately leading us into His marvelous light.
Q: What is your favorite Scripture?
A: My favorite verse is Romans 8:38-39, which says, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Q: What is your favorite pastime?
A: Baking delicious sweet treats!
Let us cling to God's unfailing love, for He cares for us!
I will be glad and rejoice in Your unfailing love, for You have seen my troubles, and You care about the anguish of my soul. Psalm 31:7

According to World Vision Advocacy, these things happen when girls stay in school:
Poverty is reduced.
Child deaths are reduced.
Girls marry later.
Families are healthier and stronger.
Girls are less susceptible to violence and exploitation.
Education increases for the next generation.
Girls are more likely to become leaders in their communities and beyond.
Give the gift of education through Mission Backpack.

The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17
Access to education could reduce rates of HIV, AIDS, and infectious diseases. Education can deliver learning experiences on health topics and provides children with knowledge, skills, and tools to live healthier lives.
A backpack filled with the basics—pencils, markers, paper, and a snack—has the power to keep a child in school in many of the countries Orphan Outreach serves. Even in public schools, the child must provide all their supplies. No backpack = no educational opportunity.
By providing the essentials, you can make a life-changing impact on these children's lives, and give them the tools they need to work towards a brighter future.
There's still time to join us on this mission.
