It is trauma week at Sojourn Center and each time it comes around in the curriculum I learn something new or have another “Ah ha” moment. What resonated with me this week is the need to finish things or do something. As a business owner looking to live my purpose with the sticks and arrows that keep coming while listening to my body and mind this finally clicked for me. That’s it!!! Ah ha! These mini traumas come regularly with the unknowns we all face in this life. Is this really an immediate threat and what can I DO? What is the threat? Self care and self compassion…that’s what is needed. That’s what I can DO!! Hope you all exercise some self care and spend your time feeding your soul this weekend! As always we are here to help! This week has been lessons on mindfulness, radical acceptance, and distress tolerance at Sojourn Center. Even though this is a part of our curriculum and something I get to share regularly it has been especially profound for me this week. Kind of like when we hear a sermon, song, or podcast that seems to be written for us. Life is hard, there is suffering, but life is SO worth living. Sojourn Center is proud to announce we have Jan Pompei leading our Smart Recovery group at noon on Wednesdays as part of our programming for folks with dual diagnosis issues!! Our group is open to anyone needing support in their recovery!! More to come on all the good things happening at Sojourn Center!

We understand at Sojourn Center that even though our patients have begun the work and are moving toward goals at discharge there will be times they may need to hit the reset button. In response to that need Sojourn Center’s aftercare is for life. As much as we hope folks will just come by to have a cup of coffee and let us know all the good things going on in their life we know we all need a reset from time to time. Sojourn Center is hiring for therapist positions! We have PRN, part time and full time opportunities available. Licensures accepted are LMSW, LCSW, LPC-Associate, LPC, LMFT, and LMFT-Associate.
