Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Take a look at these dental fun Thanksgiving facts:
1. Sugary food such as sweet potato casserole, pumpkin pie and red wine contain Streptococcus mutans, which can be very harmful to your teeth and can help create plaque.
2. Try to drink water and brush your teeth after dessert in order to avoid tooth decay caused by food high in sugar.
3. Turkey contains phosphorus, which can encourage tooth development in children.
4. Cranberry Sauce with no preservatives or added sugar is extremely beneficial for your teeth, disrupting the harm caused by Streptococcus mutans.
5. Turkey stuffing, when mixed with celery and carrots contain a high amount of vitamin A, which is very beneficial for your teeth!

Our wonderful caring staff
We are committed to providing quality dental care in the most modern and comfortable environment. Dental science, like other fields of modern medicine, has made great strides in the past years and we feel fortunate to reap the benefits of new technology for our patients’ health, comfort, and convenience.
A Farewell from Alecia Kerey, RDH
To all of my wonderful patients,
Over the years I have come to know you not only as patients, but as friends as well. It has been a pleasure getting to know each of you while helping to provide you with excellent oral health care alongside Dr. Leung, Dr. Vu, and their amazing team.
Working here has been an honor, and it is difficult to leave with so many great colleagues and patients. However, my husband and I have decided to embark on a new adventure and will be moving to Portland, OR at the end of May, 2014. This is the perfect time for us to explore this opportunity and we are very excited to experience all Oregon has to offer.
Your continued care is important to us and in addition to myself we have an entire team of excellent Dental Hygienist's whom I'm confident will provide you with amazing care. We will make our best effort to make this transition as smooth and accommodating for you as we can. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to ask. I am sad to leave and wish you all the best.
Thank you,
Alecia Kurey RDH

We are moving!
We are pleased to inform you that our dental office will be moving to a new location: 3147 Putnam Blvd. Suite B, Pleasant Hill.
While we are all a little sad to leave our current office, which Dr. Leroy Shimizu started in 1967, we are also excited to be in a larger, newly renovated space that will allow us to better serve our patients. The new office is about 1 mile away and we hope that you can continue to come to us.
We will be relocating between November 20th & November 28th. We will be fully moved in at the new office as of December 1st. If you have an appointment between these dates we will confirm via telephone as to which location your appointment will be. Please call us if necessary.
If you decide our old location on Gregory Lane is more convenient for you, you can still opt to stay here with our associate dentist Dr. Miguel Ibarra. Dr. Ibarra was a classmate of Dr. Leung & Dr. Vu at UCSF school of dentistry and he will be establishing his dental practice at our old location. Please let us know and we can forward your dental records to Dr. Ibarra.
As always, it is our privilege to care for you and your family's oral health. Please let us know how we can do better and we look forward to seeing you at our new office. Happy Holidays!
Thank you,
Dr. Leung, Dr.Vu, and Staff
