Someone recently said to me that it's easy for me to talk about mindset and mind-body wellness when in my pics I'm in such beautiful places. Apparently my life is stress free!

โŒThis could not be further from the truth! In fact, the past many months have been some of the most challenging that I have faced. And the only reason I'm sharing this is to just to confirm that EVERYONE goes through struggles. To deny this is to promote toxic positivity. Mindfulness is about accepting things as they are vs. what we want them to be.

โœจโœจSo to be very clear:
โœ”๏ธThe reason I like to help people and share anything at all is because I have experienced my own challenges and suffering. Not because my life is peachy or that I have everything figured out. The school of life is constantly teaching all of us.

โœ”๏ธMindset and mind-body practices are one of THE things to help me the most when I've struggled. Since they make such a difference to me, I love to share with others.

โœ”๏ธThe words I share on each and every post are my own personal reflections due to my own experiences. The quotes are those that personally inspire me or have helped me.

โœ”๏ธSometimes it can feel like there is so much ugliness in the world, so I choose to purposely seek out beauty. I go especially to places in nature because I find it supremely healing.

โœ”๏ธThe pictures and the words we use can really influence others so I choose to intentionally share my pics and words in the hopes that it uplifts people. So if I'm able to be in beautiful, peaceful places, then I'm giving you a taste of it too in hopes that it will uplift you in some way.

I was so happy to be able to spend time with my cousin from India after so many years! ๐Ÿฅฐ I have such fond memories of her during my regular trips to India throughout my childhood.

She, along with all of my family over there, always spoiled me with love, fun times, and yummy food! ๐Ÿคฉ These kind of memories never leave you, no matter how long it has been. โ™ฅ๏ธ It becomes deeply entrenched in who you are.

Plus my Konkani speaking skills are still pretty decent because of those trips, even with an American accent! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Happy 4th birthday to my youngest cutie! ๐ŸŽ‰

โœจCan't even put into words how much I love him and how much joy he brings to me. Such a gentle, sweet, and smart ๐Ÿถ that follows me everywhere and wants to know what I'm doing all of the time. He speaks with his gorgeous eyes. He lets me know if anything is going on around the house or outside of it. He will not stop barking until I know.

โœจOne of our rituals is getting up earlier and going down to meditate, he sits next to me "meditating" the whole time, every single day. There has not been one day he has not done this! Unless I sit outside to meditate, then he will wait by the door.โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿฅฐ

โœจHappy to say that after many years and various trainings, I just got my certification in clinical hypnosis! I took my first training back in 2019, due to the encouragement of my colleague, psychologist Dr. Susannah Feder, who I respect and admire. I thought I would just "check it out" because I had a family member that I thought it would help. And then I came back and started using it with patients, and saw how powerful it is, which inspired me to keep learning.

โœจIt was a switch from using my hands and voice to help people to relax and focus, to ONLY using my voice and mannerisms, in an extremely intentional way. I'm still learning in this field, and I find the power of the mind fascinating!

โœจnot to gossip (have not heard her do so)
โœจnot to compare or judge
โœจspirituality is extremely important to give us perspective and strength in life
โœจyour mind is everything
โœจsuccess and happiness isn't based on how much money you make or your degrees
โœจeating fresh food is important for our health, food is medicine
โœจdressing up and feeling good about how you look is great, but not to get validation from others

โœจIn our busy schedules it can quite powerful to get into the habit of taking mindful pauses. Just a few moments to take a break and reset.

โœจHere are some options for you to do during a mindful pause:

โœ”๏ธtune into your breathing
โœ”๏ธtake a few deep breaths allowing your belly to move freely as you breathe
โœ”๏ธsoften any tension that you have accumulated in your body
โœ”๏ธtune into the 5 senses (example, feeling the sun on your face when you stand outside or the sounds of the birds)
โœ”๏ธfocus on something you are truly grateful for or that brings you joy, can be even something small

๐Ÿ’–Strength isn't how tough you appear on the outside, it's how you are on the inside.

โœจSo NO ONE else can judge how strong and what a warrior you are. It's only for you to realize.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸผSo, it is equally important to prioritize practices that promote inner peace. It's important to take care of our mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being, no matter what we may or may not achieve.

โœจResilience is about having more resources than challenges. We cannot necessarily change the challenges we go through, but we can have more resources to help us get through it and come out stronger.

โœจWith so much stress over these past few years, people can benefit from more tools that are easy to implement!

โœจI work with all kinds of people, from those in high pressure jobs to those undergoing stressful health issues.

โœจNo matter how different we may appear to be, we are all human. This means our physiology is set up in similar fashions to hack for optimal wellness. Of course, there may be differences as far as specifics but this is why it's better to have more resources than less.

A recent article in Time magazine talked about how our brain does not really want us to exercise as we have an evolutionary instinct to conserve energy. The thing is, physical activity was just a part of our lifestyle back in the day. My grandparents had to walk miles and miles daily for basic tasks! ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

Now we must actively seek movement out, in a world where we can get a lot of things done and delivered to us without moving! ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸผThe good news is that research shows it doesn't take much to have a positive effect. Even starting with short bursts of movement can be powerful. There are TONS of ways to add movement to our day. We just need to be mindful about this.
