It is NATIONAL TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK!

At CMS we celebrate all of the amazing teachers and staff that help to make Central great! We kicked off the week with donuts and bagels.

We encourage you, or your student, to take a moment this week and let your teachers know how much they are appreciated!

A huge thank you to to everyone who donated to our weeklong celebration- it is so appreciated!

Yesterday was National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day and we partnered with the CMS student council to give all of our amazing bus drivers a little treat for the day!

We are so appreciative for all they do bringing our kids to and from school safely every day!

Wow! Congratulations to our very own Keenan Jones for being recognized at the State of the Union last night! We are so fortunate to have his passion and drive in addressing the literacy gap in our schools!

Keenan Jones, a Family Partnership Lead from Wayzata Central Middle School was a guest in the First Lady's viewing box and got a shout-out for his work as an educator at last night's State of the Union. Congrats Keenan! 💛💙

Highlight a Hero allows families and community members to honor teachers and staff throughout Wayzata Public Schools who have made an impact on their child and family, while making a donation to the Wayzata Education Fund’s curricular grant program.
When you donate to highlight your Wayzata Public Schools hero, your recipient will be presented with a certificate of appreciation and a personalized message from your student. Time: School Hours AND Monday 5:30 - 7:30 PM and Wednesday 5:30 - 8:30 PM

Most students will visit with their Language Arts class or may request a pass during MyTime.

You can also order online and find some great gift options! And a portion of all purchases is given back to the school and allows our teachers to stock their classroom libraries!

REMINDER - Our Kids Winter Gear Drive runs through November 29th!

The CMS PTA and Student Council are collecting NEW or very gently used kids winter gear and will be hosting a table at the 3000 Acts of Kindness Event at the Minneapolis Convention Center. This is a wonderful event giving hope and dignity to homeless individuals in the Twin Cities area.

If you want to contribute, but don't have time to pick something up or already cleared out your too small gear, take a moment to check out our Amazon Wish List. Your donations will be personally delivered to those in need on December 11 by CMS students.
