Read Indeed
Founded by Maria Keller when she was 8. Maria, age 23, along with her brother Ryan, age 20, have donated over 3.5 MILLION books to kids in need!
Read Indeed is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded by Maria Keller at the age of 8. Maria, now 21, has collected and distributed nearly over 3.5 million books to kids in need with the help of her brother, Ryan who now runs the organization.
Fifteen years after Maria founded Read Indeed, she is getting read to graduate from Notre Dame's graduate school in May, move back to Minnesota....and she is looking forward to what the future holds for Read Indeed! Stay tuned!
Read Indeed is celebrating another big book donation! Thanks to a huge donation of more than 60,000 books from The Child's World, a children's book publisher in Mankato, MN, we are able to provide lots of books to the Salvation Army for distribution to children in need during the upcoming Christmas holiday!
Read Indeed has been busy filling Little Free Libraries throughout the Twin Cities with the books that are continually purchased by and donated to our organization! Congrats to our founder, Maria Keller, who is heading to graduate school at the University of Notre Dame. Our president, Ryan Keller, is taking a gap year to work as a Catholic missionary with NET Ministries before heading to college. Read Indeed will continue its mission, albeit in a smaller way, until Maria and Ryan can take the helm once again.
So many books, so many kids in need! Read Indeed is continually providing books to students who have no books in their homes. To learn more about our organization, visit www.readindeed.org

A HUGE shoutout to The Child's World, Read Indeed's favorite children's book publisher in North Mankato. They are completing their donation of 106,000 NEW books that will go directly to underprivileged children being served through the Salvation Army's programs! The Child's World has been partnering with Read Indeed for more than 13 years. Thank you so much! Salvation Army North The Child's World
This is jaw dropping.
The MN Dept of Education released the 2020 test score results for students in K-12. Only 6.37 percent of students in 1st-12th grade are proficient in reading in Minneapolis.
Please help Read Indeed get books to these kids to build their home libraries and get them reading. All donations to Read Indeed are tax deductible. Click on the link below to donate. Thanks!

Thanks to Capstone for their incredible generosity! And thanks to Henry for continuing to get books to kids!
Things are getting busy at Read Indeed again! We are going to be receiving about 200,000 BRAND NEW books over the next 3 months from some of our favorite publishers! Thanks so much to these literary partners!
It's Maria and I am crashing my dad’s speaker series next Thursday at 11:00 central.
He has Michael Keller, children’s book author and Leah Hernandez a publisher of books by children.
I am going to budge to the front of the line and ask some questions of his guests.

Read Indeed has been blessed to be able to collect and distribute thousands of copies of Eric Carle's books over the years! Thank you for all that you did for children's literacy Eric! Your efforts will live on.
COVID requires creativity! In the last 6 months, Read Indeed's president Ryan has filled many of the area's Little Free Libraries with over 2,000 books--giving kids who are distance learning access to books that they would otherwise not be able to enjoy!
These two siblings continue to work so hard to get books to kids in need. Together Maria and Ryan have donated more than 3.5 million books to kids in need throughout the U.S. and beyond. They've seen how the pandemic is wreaking havoc on kids' literacy throughout the U.S. Can you help? Read Indeed can purchase books for $1 each thru Scholastic. That means $10 = 10 brand new books. New books are shipped to locations all over the U.S. and are put in Little Free Libraries in low-income neighborhoods so that kids can find books to read, even if school is not in person!

Thanks to a generous donation from the Renaissance Foundation, we were able to purchase 500 books that wlll be distributed to kids in need in the Chicagoland area by the Renaissance Foundation!
Throwback Thursday.... Read Indeed's president, Ryan Keller, working on organizing (or reading) a shipment of Read Indeed books when he was 5 years old! And 12 years later he's still going strong!
We've all learned a tremendous amount during this ongoing pandemic. And one thing we've learned at Read Indeed is that literacy issues don't take a sabbatical during a pandemic. In fact, they just get worse! We are hearing stories upon stories of how low-income kids currently DO NOT have books to read while they are at home distance learning. They don't have access to classroom libraries, school libraries or community libraries! But Ryan and his team at Read Indeed are working hard to get books to kids in various creative ways, including through neighborhood Little Free Libraries. If you can donate just $10, we can purchase 10 books! Donate now at the link below. Thanks so much!

Ryan filled another 4,000 books in Little Free Libraries for children to select in their own neighborhoods! It's the perfect way to get books to kids while schools continue to be closed.
Distributing books from Read Indeed at the Boys & Girls Club -- COVID-style!
So excited to announce that we have been able to gift about 800 books to the Boys & Girls Club of the Twin Cities thanks to a wonderful book drive that was done by a group of MInnetonka High School students. Thanks to all for your hard work to impact literacy in our area!
Hey! This is Ryan and we are receiving dozens of requests each week for books so that kids who are doing distance learning have their own books to read at home. I worked hard this summer to put thousands of books in Little Free Libraries and now I'm working on getting monetary donations to purchase new books for kids. I've raised $800 toward my initial goal of $1000. Just $10 can buy 10 brand new books. Thank you for helping if you can! You can donate at the link below:

Here is one of the coolest Little Free Libraries! Each page from Where the Wild Things Are is laminated and posted on these pedestals. Read while you walk! Genius.
We have raised $625 toward our $1000 goal! Can you help? With more and more school districts doing distance learning, the students most in need of books at home are losing out! Can you please help Read Indeed get books to these kids so that the traditional 'summer' slide doesn't turn into a fall, winter and spring 'slide' as well! If you can simply donate $10, we can purchase 10 new books. If we can raise $1000, that's 1,000 books! Thank you so much for your generosity! --Ryan

With so many kids experiencing a significant 'summer slide' this summer because of lack of access to books, Ryan is busy outfitting Little Free Libraries with books from Read Indeed. People near and far continue to donate books to Read Indeed allowing us to get books to kids in neighborhoods with Little Free Libraries!
This summer Ryan has been busy outfitting Little Free Libraries with books from Read Indeed for kids who need books to read this summer. Thanks to everyone who continues to send books to Read Indeed and who is donating funds! Read Indeed’s outreach is very much needed during this time and you are continuing to make it happen.
Like so many nonprofits, during this pandemic Read Indeed is facing diminished donations. Can you help us by donating $10? We can turn that $10 into 10 new books for kids in need. With libraries closed, and schools out of session, the children we serve have no access to books. Please consider donating at:

Read Indeed is nearing 3.4 million books!! In fact today's number is 3,342,871 to be exact! Even during the pandemic brother-sister duo, Ryan and Maria, continue to work hard to get books to kids so they have things to read while at home during the summer months--especially in communities where libraries are closed. We are filling neighborhood Little Free Libraries with books, providing books to food shelves and also giving books to organizations helping those in need.
