Junior learned a new trick this past week. I wonder what else we could use this trick for? 🤔😆
It took us five days with two short sessions a day, and here we are now.
Happy New Year everyone! 😃
It is a good idea to get your dogs tired before fireworks tonight. Do more with them today than you normally would on any other day. Long walks, play ball, tugger war, Nosework, obedience, tag your it! aka have them chase you or whatever you can to tire them out. Although Junior is not bothered by fireworks or thunder, I still would like to tire him out just to make sure that he can deal with any kind of loud bangs that may come our way.
Today Junior will do a multiple things. I will play hide and seek with him. We will do obedience like similar to what we did in this video. We also will do several sessions of Nosework and a few miles of walking.
Wishing everyone a warm and pleased Holiday Season ❤️
A bittersweet last Nosework session for my advanced students. I wholeheartedly believe everyone took more than just Nosework away from this 12 week class. The dog and humans definitely are walking away with so much knowledge and confidence. Happy searching! ❤️😃
This trick isn't exactly how I want it to look 😂 Junior clearly hates it! so definitely nothing graceful about this one! 🤦♀️🤣
After a few rounds of Nosework in a small, controlled area and a few laps around the property we then worked on an old trick that we wanted to spruce up a bit... a short video will be posted later.
Some Nosework with a little snow and 20 miles an hour winds. I think he still can do it. 😃
A wonderful and awesome first time training session for 17 week old Sista. ❤️😃
FYI, name was chosen by the young children of the household. 😆
An exhausting but awesome training day for my advanced Nosework students. 😃❤️
Decisions, decisions, when you're only worries are what ball to bring... 🥰 I think life is pretty good, lol😆❤️
Junior is feeling splendid! So after a few rounds of Nosework a couple of tricks were in order.
Here we are practicing "place" which means he needs to land in the middle from various starting points.
Today - one week post Juniors neuter surgery. He was going stir crazy and this is one of the most calmest way burning off a little steam.
Junior is 6 1/2 years old and this was a good time to have him neutere. I do not believe in early neutering. I preferred to wait until at least
three years or before eight years old for my dogs.
Today my advanced Nosework students learned how to use the wind to their advantage. We also changed up interior searches in a completely different building to acclimate and generalize their search environments.
I have a feeling they will be dog tired by the time they got home today.
A wonderful first time training session for three months
Benny.
Another fun and successful training session for my advanced Nosework student. Today we learned searching a vehicle from the outside and also finding multiple hides in one room. All dogs are now officially imprinted with Birch, Anis, and Clove.
A wonderful and successful maintenance training session for six months old Bailey.
An alternative way, of feeding a dog that has tendencies to eat very fast.
Very proud of sweet Cashmere!
We just started on Friday imprinting her with the essential oil birch. Today, she's already starting to search independently..,
she understands that is the birch that will get her paid.
Don't ruin your progress, of training your dog by overdoing it.
Keep training sessions short and fun.
Always stop when the dog wants more not when they are tired or worn out.
A fabulous and fun second session for my advanced Nosework group!
Kashmir, officially started Nosework. Here we are, first teaching her a "final train respond" meaning she has to show me at some point when she learns to search that she has found the odor.
This sequence of event, is called back chaining.
Downing the dog on the move:
Generalizing your dog's training is an important part of their upbringing. Meaning, once you dog understands a commend at the comfort of his home, now it's time to take it into a different environment and practice there.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
A little bit of fun with Nosework for Junior.
This is good information.
Why dogs turn on their owners I explain the reason that dogs "randomly" attack their owners
What to know about the mystery illness that is killing dogs in the US Vets are recommending dog owners keep their pets away from social settings like parks and boarding facilities until more is known.
A wonderful maintenance training session for one and a half year old Sawyer.😃😃
