Update:

The children of the orphanage are safe from the recent earthquake, however many people from nearby villages were left homeless with no shelters and no food to eat. Pierre and his team of volunteers traveled 13 hours to an area of hard hit villages/towns to quickly build shelters and provide supplies of rice, beans and clothing for the people in most need. The old house where the children were previously living was damaged when the ceiling collapsed, but by the grace of God those intern students living there were unharmed. Last week, we shipped additional clothing and food supplies for the orphanage via cargo ship. On behalf of Love the Hungry, Inc Haiti orphanage, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your donations, prayers and concern for the children & people of Haiti.

God bless always,

Gloria V. Balan, President
Linda Smith, Vice President

First of all, thank you Lord for blessing our mission to help care for your children at the orphanage. It has been a challenging year for everyone in the midst of this COVID-19 pandemic, but God you continue to bless us in so many ways. This year our mission trips to our orphanage were canceled due to COVID-19, but despite these challenges we were able to send 4 large boxes of essential goods to our children, which included rice, beans, oil, and can goods, just to mention a few. Thank you especially to Nicola’s Italian Restaurant in Englewood for allowing us to utilize their facility as our venue this year. Thank you to our local merchants and businesses who donated items/gift certificates for our door/raffle prizes. Thank you all who were able to come to join us for dinner, we hope you enjoyed the foods and the company of friends. Many thanks as well to those who were not able to come but are untiring in their support for this worthy cause to help God’s children. Big hugs and “merci” from all of the children!
