Meet Edward, a vibrant 91-year-old with a heart full of gratitude! Just five years ago, Edward faced the scary news of having dangerously high blood pressure, leaving him unable to work or even make the journey to church.

But everything changed when Edward joined our Chronic Care program. Thanks to the dedicated treatment and support he received, his blood pressure steadily improved. Today, Edward is a new man, full of energy and life! He can now manage his household chores and walk long distances with ease, including the trip to church. Edward’s eyes light up with gratitude when he talks about the loving care he receives from SMI.

This transformation wouldn’t have been possible without your generous donations. Your support provides life-sustaining care for Edward and other elders in need. Together, we are making a profound difference, one life at a time! To be a part of what Show Mercy is doing, check out www.showmercy.org

Happy Summer! ☀️ It’s officially summer here in the USA! Did you know that Uganda doesn’t have four distinct seasons? Instead, it has two dry seasons from December to February and June to July, and two wet seasons from September to November and March to May.

Not only that, but schools in Uganda operate on a year-round schedule, starting in February and ending in November. So, while students in the USA are enjoying their summer break, students in Uganda have just gone back to school a few weeks ago for Term 2!📚✏️

A Thread of Hope!

Meet Angel. She has been working so hard in our sewing program. A couple of weeks ago, she graduated!

Angel has been praying for a way to start her own business after graduating from the sewing class, but her financial situation has been a significant obstacle.

We invited Angel to come out and encourage our new sewing class. Little did she know we had a surprise waiting for her. As she sat down, she was blindfolded… the next thing she knew, a new sewing machine was sitting in front of her. She couldn’t believe the sewing machine was hers to keep!

The sewing program not only provides a means for individuals to start their own businesses, but has also instilled a sense of hope and empowerment within them.❤️

We’ve seen so many people discover more of their God-given purpose and potential after joining us on a trip to Uganda!

“I cannot speak highly enough of the organization we worked with on ground. Show Mercy International cares so much about their community and they saw every patient as a person, paying so much attention to detail! We saw 1623 NEW patients in 3 days not including patients coming back for repeat treatments, additional labs, breathing Tx or wound dressings, etc. The patients were so happy, patient, grateful-it was such an incredible experience to have the honor to be a part of.” -Carissa (Missions Team Member)

Can you imagine getting your very first ultrasound at seven months pregnant? That is the reality for many mothers in Uganda...

This soon-to-be mother never thought she would be able to get an ultrasound. She couldn’t afford it on her own, and she didn’t have any family or friends to help her. But then something amazing happened. She discovered that we were offering free ultrasounds to pregnant women at our medical outreach!

When she arrived at the SMI Clinic last week, she was filled with anticipation and excitement. As the technician ran the ultrasound wand over her belly, she held her breath. Suddenly, she saw two tiny shapes on the screen, and her heart leaped with joy. She was carrying twin boys! She couldn’t believe it.

The technician confirmed that she was seven months pregnant, not six months as previously thought. She was overwhelmed with gratitude and thanked the technician and everyone who had made it possible, including YOU! She left the clinic that day with a big smile on her face, ready to prepare for the arrival of her two precious baby boys. 💙

We met Justine at the medical outreach. This 28-year-old woman is indeed an inspiration. Her love for her children has kept her going through the stormy and disheartening times in her life. When she showed up to our clinic, she was exhausted, overwhelmed and appeared to be defeated. As she poured out her heart, we discovered why. She’s a mother to 4 precious children. Unfortunately, her husband is very seldom in their lives, so taking care of her family falls solely on her.

It is customary in Uganda to send your children to boarding schools if you value their education, and this can be expensive. Justine is always on the lookout for odd jobs, so she can send her daughter to a good school. For some time now, she has been making a living by hand-washing people’s clothes. Bending over is necessary to wash clothes in a plastic tub, and fetching water from a well by hand is a strenuous undertaking. This has caused Justine to experience excruciating back pain.

The eldest daughter, Shantel, who is holding her neck in the picture, struggles with a chronic illness and is chronically absent from class.
All of these situations broke Justine’s mother’s heart. They were just too much to come to terms with.

When Justine found out that YOU had made it possible for her and her children to receive free medical treatment, she was overjoyed. She didn’t know if God was real or concerned for her. But that changed today. Our prayers, assistance with medical treatment, and sending them off with love and hope made the family feel cherished and seen.

Many are experiencing physical healings and spiritual breakthroughs as they come to trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

The AMAZING team of medical staff, volunteers and nurses from the USA! We are so thankful for them and their hearts to serve others.

Photos from Show Mercy International's post 04/24/2024

The first day of the medical outreach was truly remarkable! The team of nurses and doctors treated over 500 patients, and 11 people accepted Christ as their savior, which is a testament to the spiritual impact of this medical outreach! We will continue to share stories on how the people in need of both physical and spiritual healing are being impacted.

Please continue to join us in prayer as we move on to day two of the three-day medical outreach tomorrow.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who donated to make this possible.

The last couple of days they have been busy spreading the love of Jesus through medical care.

We hope everyone had a great Easter. HE IS RISEN! ❤️

The children and youth in our program came together to celebrate the death, burial and resurrection of JESUS! They were reminded of his gracious sacrifice and what Easter is truly all about.

03/29/2024

As we celebrate Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection this week, we are reminded that it is a story of GOOD NEWS! On this Good Friday, we are reflecting on Jesus’ sacrificial death for you and me.

He courageously carried out His mission to redeem all of God’s children - the ultimate sacrifice. Today, let’s remember that Jesus’ gracious love for us is at the center of it all!

The word “Suubi” means HOPE in Luganda. Hope is a powerful word filled with faith, life, and purpose… we are talking about a hope that believes for the impossible! We know where our hope comes from - JESUS.

That is why our program, which happens every Saturday, is called SUUBI CLUB!

Children from 8 different centers are gathered each week to learn about Jesus, play games with other children, and eat a nutritious meal!

This is all possible because of our amazing family of sponsors. THANK YOU!
