Matt Reinhart for Volusia County Council District 2
Matt Reinhart has served the residents of Volusia Co for over 30 years. Pd by Matt Reinhart for Volusia County District 2
It's so hard to believe that this little princess of mine is already 30. This little girl of mine who looked up to her Daddy, wait.....I hope she still does. The little girl that makes my day every time she calls to get my advise or just vent. The little girl who's no longer a little girl but will ALWAYS be Daddy's little girl.
I'm so proud of you. You work so hard, and such and awesome Mom. But most importantly you are the absolute BEST daughter a Dad could ask for.
Happy Birthday Kayla Reinhart.
Have a safe and blessed Independence Day and please take a moment to remember our forefather's sacrifice so we can celebrate today in Freedom!
Also please remember those individuals who have to work this holiday and are not able to celebrate with family and friends.
Be safe, be kind, and please drive sober.
God Bless the USA!

This past Thursday, Volusia County broke ground on the new Veterans Memorial Plaza that is located next to the Tom Staed Veterans Memorial Bridge in Daytona Beach.
This plaza will serve as a tribute to the brave individuals who have selflessly served and made sacrifices for our nation.
The plaza will feature amphitheater seating, a 6-foot fire feature monument with plaques along the sides.
These plaques will be engraved with the names of Volusia County soldiers who gave their life in the line of duty, and plaques next to each flag representing different branches of the armed forces.
Earlier today, I had the pleasure of being invited to attend the big announcement between the Boeing Company and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. πΊπΈβοΈπΊπΈ
If you have wondered what the new building is going up on Clyde Morris south of the university campus, it is a wonderful opportunity for 400 high paying jobs in Volusia County. The Cici and Hyatt Brown Center for Aerospace Technology at ERAU research park is scheduled to be opened by the end of 2026.
This is a wonderful opportunity for ERAU graduates and other qualified candidates to stay local and pursue their dream jobs right here at home in Volusia County.
Thank you to Cici and Hyatt Brown for the $25 million dollar gift, the state of Florida's matched donation, the Embry-Riddle Board of Trustees, and the university for working over the years to make this happen.
Thank you to the Boeing Company for choosing to make Volusia County's future brighter by making Daytona Beach your newest location.

In honor of this year's National Police Week, we are asking that all our brothers and sisters, active and retired to post a picture of yourself in uniform on your wall.
This is OUR week.
God bless all the men and women in Law Enforcement.
Never forget our heroes. "In Valor there is Hope".

One year ago today we got that devastating phone call that my John Reinhart had passed. How could it be that my big brother is gone? We just started to get reconnected after so many years of being apart. It was definitely challenging as he lived so far away.
Over the past year or so, John had been in and out of the hospital with various medical issues, some as a result of several motorcycle accidents that had left him in severe pain.
He had been clean & sober for about the past 15 or so years, but we believe the pain from those past accidents led him to purchasing street opioids, that unbeknownst to John were laced with Fentanyl. As a result of this I lost my brother.
The Opioid/Fentanyl crisis affects us all in some way. After working in Corrections for over 30 years, it has always been on my radar with seeing first hand how this terrible epidemic can destroy lives. Now losing my brother to this evil monster has impacted our family on a personal level.

I believe in supporting small business and one business that we often forget are our small farmers and ranchers.
Fletcher Family Farms in New Smyrna has produce and salad subscriptions weekly or bi-weekly and they offer delivery to some locations. If you have a produce or salad subscription you can also get farm fresh eggs. (They also have a page and website.)
Our family gets the bi-weekly produce subscription delivery and this was our delivery this morning. There is nothing better than farm fresh veggies without pesticides and farm fresh eggs. It also comes with a savory or sweet bread from Zelicious Baked Goods.
Remember to shop, stay, and eat local as often as possible to support our local economy.

It was just 7 years ago that I received my 30-year pin for my career with the County of Volusia.
Now I have the honor of attending this auspicious event as a Councilman and having the opportunity to witness some of my former colleagues in Corrections receive the same tribute as well as many other County staff.
I extend my heartfelt congratulations on a job well done to one and all and thank you for your many years of service to the citizens of
Volusia County.

So proud of this young man. Jeremiah was in my American Government class when I taught at F.A.I.T.H. Homeschool Academy a few years back. He has such an exceptional mind for government. I put him in contact with Duncan S. DeMarsh, who is the Legislative Aide for Rep. Chase Tramont. From there his experiences in state government and the house has expanded to the Florida Senate as a page. As you can see, he led the Pledge of Allegiance on the Florida Senate floor.
Way to go Jeremiah. Keep it up and as you say "Ruling with Passion & Leading with Vision".
Today is my Angel's birthday. My best friend & absolute love of my life. I am one blessed man and so grateful that God put us in each other's path some 22 years ago. I still remember that first birthday we celebrated. Thank goodness it's not that cold, lol.
I look forward to spending so many more with you Darlin.
How do I deserve you? The woman who brings balance to my life and who is always there to listen. She always supports me and always calms me down when "the Warden hat" is on. She is such an awesome mom, bonus-mom, daughter, grandmother and most importantly my bride!
Beautiful candle light service this morning @ CrossRoads Church. Merry Christmas everyone.
The first stop on my to do list this morning was stopping by to deliver toys to Buck James and the rest of the volunteers for the children at HOPE Place.
If you aren't familiar with HOPE Place, they provide emergency housing for up to 3 months for over 100 families with children each year.
Families are provided a safe place to stay, day care for children, three 3 meals a day, tutoring, life skills and budgeting classes, and case management.
The Rapid Rehousing Program helps families quickly establish a new residence each year through financial assistance and follows up with case management to increase the chance of a successful outcome, helping families return to being self-sustaining members of our community.
If you would like more information on HOPE Place or would like to donate to support their ministry, please click on the link below or call (386) 317-5886.
Thank you to all the volunteers who give of their time in our community. You are a blessing to us all.
Remember to be a blessing to others with a smile, an open door, or a pay it forward opportunity. Have a Safe and Merry Christmas.ππ

Residents and visitors are advised to stay out of the water due to high surf and dangerous rip currents. Beach erosion and coastal flooding could occur.
Boaters are cautioned as there is an offshore gale warning and should plan accordingly. Increasing winds with significant gusts are also expected, with higher wind speeds in coastal areas.
Residents should inspect their properties and secure loose items, including holiday decorations, to mitigate potential damage.
Heavy rainfall is forecasted throughout the county. Drivers are urged to exercise caution and never drive through standing water.
The peak impact of the storm is anticipated from late Saturday into Sunday midday.

A Family Day spent with our granddaughter in downtown Daytona on Beach Street.
We love to shop & eat local to support our small businesses. If you don't have time to bake this holiday season you will want to try Kookienow.com.
Erick makes some delicious kookies and I possibly tried a dozen or 3 to take home.
After some shopping we had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants Farm to Fit, which put us is a perfect location to view the "Jingle All The Waves" Christmas Parade.
Congratulations to one of the first in line, our 3S Football State Champions, Mainland High School. Go Bucs!
Last stop was the Daytona Christmas Experience at First Baptist Daytona Beach Church where we got to enjoy food, crafts, games, petting zoo, train rides & and a live nativity hay ride.
We had so much family fun, this will be not only a day to remember, but one to mark on our calendars for years to come!
