It’s Wednesday and as we pray for single parent families, we pray also strongly for those who are sick and in need of healing. We ask for special healing mercies and grace for the day for those we love.
Good Morning Facebook Family,
I'm gleaning from Max Lucado today:
“For some of you the journey has been long. Very long and stormy. In no way do I want to minimize the difficulties that you have had to face along the way. Some of you have shouldered burdens that few of us could carry. You have bid farewell to life-long partners. You have been robbed of life-long dreams. You have been given bodies that can't sustain your spirit. You have spouses who can't tolerate your faith. You have bills that outnumber your paychecks and challenges that outweigh the strength.
And you are tired.
It's hard for you to see the city in the midst of the storms. The desire to pull over to the side of the road and get out entices you. You want to go on, but some days the road seems so long...
Let me encourage you...God never said that the journey would be easy, but He did say that the arrival would be worthwhile.” Max Lucado

This and that; Wynona Judd said and I believe it is true of many families: “We all have three different realities of the same car ride to the nightmares we were in."

If your reality is looking like a nightmare, pray. If you are feeling sad, pray. If you are discouraged and feel like you don't have a friend in this world, pray. The Lord, strong and almighty loves YOU! He will come through like the gentle rain one day and then spring blossoms will turn into full blooms of fragrant flowers. Hope flowers! We say, "Lord, this isn't how I planned my life to be, Lord this isn't my dream! Those who endure chronic pain plead, "Get me through one more day with this body." Lord invigorate our bodies and our lives with Your Holy Spirit and power."

On Tuesdays we pray for Carol and Gene Kent and all families who have a loved one incarcerated. There are many broken-hearted parents who are missing the normal joys of life with their family because of incarceration. Please send protection, help, wisdom and healing for these families and their loved ones in Jesus’ name. I myself, made a commitment deep in my heart some years back when Carol Kent's story gripped me to pray for her son. There are other mothers here that we blanket with prayers for the same thing. Some we know by name and some of their painful stories, others we do not, but we still hold the hurting parent up to the Lord.
Please be with the parents as they process their pain, making changes to their lives as this situation looms before them. Please protect and speak to their children who are in jail or prison and send teachers and journey-mates to them.
We also send up prayers for victims and their families. If you are in that position, please know that the parents represented here are appalled at the thought of their family member hurting you and yours. Only by truly believing in the forgiveness our Lord can anyone here press on.

“All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too.
When we suffer for Jesus, it works out for your healing and salvation. If we are treated well, given a helping hand and encouraging word, that also works to your benefit, spurring you on, face forward, unflinching. Your hard times are also our hard times. When we see that you’re just as willing to endure the hard times as to enjoy the good times, we know you’re going to make it, no doubt about it.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-7
If you are a mother whose child is incarcerated, please let us know the best way to pray for your family.

Another Monday and the weeks seem to go by so fast. On Mondays we pray for our family and extended families. Lord, You know each heart here, hurting or joyful and the many needs of our families for health, wholeness and provision. We can only pray and open our hands to You concerning their needs. We are at Your mercy and are a needy people in spirit and soul at times. We pray especially that You restore relationships, and give protection to those we love. We pray for those who have recently lost loved ones and we pray for those who have had or need surgeries. We ask that You show us how to live this day and every day as we seek Your will. We love You Lord, our sustainer, our Father and the lover of our souls. Guide, protect and blaze through this day as our shining Knight of Honor.
"Sometimes we don't need advice. Sometimes we just need to hear we're not the only one."
Matthew McConaughey – Greenlights
“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”~Mother Teresa
Praying extra for Mathis who has a sprained foot from the trampoline park.
Something to think about:
If you have never accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, He is only a prayer away. To give Him your heart doesn’t mean you have to go to a church “building” to do that. You can do it right now. It can be as simple or as complex as you want to do it.
Pray this prayer with me: LORD JESUS, COME INTO MY LIFE. I KNOW I’VE MESSED IT UP, BUT YOU AND YOU ALONE CAN FIX IT. I WAS CREATED FOR YOU. HELP ME TO LIVE OUT YOUR PLAN FOR MY LIFE. I WILL GIVE MY HEART TO YOU FROM THIS MOMENT FORWARD, IN JESUS NAME I PRAY.

If you’ve prayed this prayer, private message me. I’d love to hear it!

THIS THING IS NOT GONNA BREAK YOU!
Feeling overwhelmed? God has got it covered. Call; his line is never busy and He won't put you on hold: Jeremiah 33:3 (AMP) "You can't do it on your own. Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand)."

On Saturday, when we pray for those who grieve, we ask for help, strength and comfort. We ask for those who grieve for loved ones to be able to just do the next best thing, take that next step and to press on. For those who grieve the death of a dream, or marriage we ask for help and hope to live. I’m thinking of those who have had a recent loss today, especially a dear sister/mom/wife. Lord, please wrap arms of comfort around those who grieve.

Quote of the day from YOUR WORDS ARE POWERFUL, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SPEAK by Suzi Yelvington: “The Lord hears his people when they call. I depend on God alone.”

Thursday, a great day for Recovery in the State of Florida and around our nation. Go to a meeting, attend a small group, reach out to someone in prayer, be a light in this world. Maybe you are feeling a loss of favor and timing of the Lord concerning things that involve your family; the enemy may be trying to destroy everything that concerns you, it seems. But DO NOT be moved except to believe in the favor and peace of the Lord.

Touch and agree with me that it is many people's time of blessing and answered prayers are on their way, fractured families will one day walk in harmony and marriages will portray the blessing of the Lord upon them. Those shackled by grief and torment will find a refreshing that can only be described as supernatural; a touch from the Master’s hand.

All our children and grandchildren shall be taught of the Lord and great will be peace of our children.
Eyes that have been blinded by the enemy for years will be opened and they will proclaim, “My Lord and my God, I never knew Your love and kindness could be found in this darkness, in this desert or my own self-inflicted wilderness.” Many will find their places of service and proclaim the goodness of the Lord.

It wasn’t their way, their hand but the hand of the Lord. Romans 8:31 “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His name together. Praying for all groups and families every day in every way.

I’d like to put a call-out for prayers for Pastor Jim Pelletier who has been diagnosed with acute moderate rejection of his liver. We ask that the Lord Jesus, go before our Father God and intercede and plead that Jim will walk in wellness and strength once again. We pray that he will be robust and full of stamina and no plan of the enemy will prevail. We ask for mercy and grace for each moment. Lord, also sustain sweet Becky Kannaday Pelletier as she cares for his needs. She is a tower of strength by Your grace.

Here is an awesome thought by Dee Brestin: "On a spiritual parallel, when we first come into a relationship with Jesus everything is rosy. But as time passes, we realize that life is still difficult, there is still pain, and though our heavenly Bridegroom could snap His fingers and make it go away, sometimes he doesn't. Sometimes He doesn't do what we want Him to do. Jesus longs for us to trust Him in the wilderness---especially when He doesn't make sense." Dee Brestin
If you are in the wilderness of your soul today, wondering if the Lord has forgotten you, please hang on. Together (with Jesus) we are strong. He will make all things right in His time and in His way. We will look back and praise His holy name with a strong voice and yes, also it may be with a wounded heart. And then we remember, He was wounded also.

This is what I felt recently, but today is a new day and I will praise Him! "But there are times when you don’t feel like lifting up your hands to thank and praise God, yet you do it. Perhaps you feel very discouraged lately. Perhaps everything is going wrong for you, and you feel like your life is in a mess. You can’t hold back the tears. Yet, you make a conscious decision to lift your hands and thank God for being in the situation with you. You open your mouth and begin to praise Him even though you really don’t feel like doing it." Joseph Prince Ministries.
Today we pray for those who are sick or recovering from surgeries. Holding one special brother up to You today, Lord, that all wisdom needed, all health and stamina be restored to his body in Jesus’ name. You have done it before, Lord, please do it again.

We also hold up single parents and their children today and ask that they be blessed.

07/16/2024

It’s Tuesday, and we are praying for families of prisoners and their victims, today and also continue to ask for clemency for Carol and Gene Kent’s son, Jason.

Lord, again I pray that You will be the Lord of the breakthrough! Heal our families in ways that we can't do and ways that will surely show that we serve a mighty God and that You, Jesus can make a way where there seemed to be no way. Where families are fractured and mothers are broken and hurting before You, I ask for Your great arms of comfort to wrap around them and heal their wounds and sorrows. Lord, please be with that one who is hurting the worst today; You know who it is. I ask for special prayers for a mother among us who I know is hurting very much. Let her know that we are holding her unspoken prayer requests up to You and won't let go of the hem of your garment until there is healing and help for her, strength for the day and Your peace.

Something good from Kay Warren: I said to Rick, "When we pastor a church, even if I have to stand on the rooftop of that church, I will tell people that we are just like everybody else. We are sinners. We are broken. There are some days I'm not sure God exists. Sometimes I feel like this is a big cosmic joke. We need God to get through every single day." So we made a determination to do that." Kay Warren

Lord, we come to You at the beginning of a new week, thanking You for many blessings and for Your love. You are an awesome God who loves, provides for and heals Your people. You protect the little ones who have no one else, You strengthen the weary and give grace for them to press on, You have preserved our nation, regardless of how the people within it act at times. You are powerful and mighty. You cover us when we have gone astray and walked in a path that did not lead us to goodness, but You bring us back and use those mistakes as a testimony. You turn our messes into a message. We praise Your name and pray especially for families today. We ask for mercy upon them, love to be over them and healing in every way as You breakthrough what we can't do on our own. We thank You ahead of time for financial provision and each emotional need to me be met as we pray in Jesus’ name.

My favorite part of Psalm 16 but it is all good:
But me he caught—reached all the way
from sky to sea; he pulled me out
Of that ocean of hate, that enemy chaos,
the void in which I was drowning.
They hit me when I was down,
but God stuck by me.
He stood me up on a wide-open field;
I stood there saved—surprised to be loved!
God made my life complete
when I placed all the pieces before him.

In the mornings I sometimes end my daily devotional time with reading first, "Let nothing disturb thee, nothing affright thee; all things are passing; God never changeth.(St. Teresa of Avila) and then, O Holy Spirit, beloved of my soul, I adore You, be more in me, today.

Just in case y'all wondered how I make it through the day and want to join me in these readings:) I end with this prayer:
Veni, Sancte Spiritus
Come, Holy Spirit,
and send out a ray
of your heavenly light.
Come, father of the poor,
Come, giver of gifts,
Come, light of our hearts.
Come, kindly comforter,
Sweet guest of our soul
And sweet freshness.
Rest in hardship,
Moderation in the heat,
Relief in pain!
O most blessed light,
fill the innermost hearts
of those who believe in you.
Without your divine power
There is nothing in man,
Nothing that is harmless.
Wash what is unclean,
Water what is arid,
Heal what is wounded.
Bend what is stiff,
Warm what is cold,
Guide what has gone astray.
Give to those who believe in you
and trust in you
Your seven sacred gifts.
Give the reward of virtue,
Give the end of salvation,
Give lasting happiness! (A Thirteenth century prayer by Stephen Langton)

We never know what the day or week may bring. Several this week have lost those they love; you didn’t know on the day they woke up that it would be the last day on earth, you would hear their tender voice. Earth’s loss is heaven’s gain. They as well as Jesus are saving a place for that reunion, one day. We grieve, yet press on, knowing the Lord has a plan for us, if we remain here.
We pray for strength for the journey, comfort from the Lord and His people and for love to surround you through the numbness of coping with what must be dealt with. Jesus, lover of my soul, bind our wounds and make us whole. Praying for those whose loss is so new and tender.

I’ll be attending three memorial services in the next few days. There is another one at the same time as a relative’s, so I’ll be unable to give my friend, who lost her husband, a hug and support. These gatherings bring comfort, and hopefully some closure to family and friends. We remember the good times and good qualities of our loved one.
"In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you."

Jesus is not telling us that heaven has compartments or that we will have little places in which to live. In the ancient culture, a father's house was where the extended family lived. Rooms were often added on as the family grew through birth and marriage. What Jesus was doing was using the present day illustration of a loving, tight, family community. So, Christ is saying that He is preparing a place for us in heaven where we will dwell with God in close communion with Him and that there is room in heaven for all whom God calls to salvation. (by Matt Slick)

Augustine said it stunningly: "In my deepest wound, I see Your glory and it dazzles me."

07/12/2024

“Be the kind of person that brings joy and light into the room. Find one good thing to say to someone else. It may be the thing that helps them through the day.” (me)

I want to live this way: "Grace allows the need to be right to be overruled by the need to be reconciled." -Mike Foster

So far, I've not been able to do it perfectly but it is in my heart. May the fire of the Spirit, His mercy and peace overtake our families in a way that they will know they have seen Jesus.

Praying especially for unspoken prayer requests today. The good ones, the painful ones, the needed ones, they are all important to our Father. He looked down with love upon you when you were still being knit in your mother’s womb. What a mighty God we serve.

Praying against the spirit of rejection in families. Praying that hearts will not be divided but will be sewn together in love. Praying for miracles in relationships. Hang on to your hope even when it looks hopeless. Be with the widow as she adjusts to life without the love of her life. God, send great Father arms of comfort in Jesus’ name.

Old word, but still timely:
"What The Lord Is Saying Today," July 11, 2011. The crisis that has arisen is no surprise to Me. Many who face such are weak and tremble. This is not you. I have made you strong for a purpose. For when you come through times like this victoriously, it not only benefits you but it also shines My light to edify others. You have never been one to hide My light under a bushel basket. Rather, you let it shine for all to see. I am so very proud of you. You are My delight in the earth. This is why you are so precious and priceless. Only now you are demonstrating that I did, in fact, create you in My image.

July 11, 2011. Hard and difficult are words describing what has been happening in your life. You feel it has been an uphill battle lately. You feel like you need a break and you do. Good news, one is coming. In fact more than one is on its way. They have been stored up waiting for the right time. You have been walking in My wisdom. You asked Me and I have been pouring it out on you. I have been watching and you are not only receiving it but waiting on My timing to use it and to deliver it to others. Coming soon is the time of the gifts being poured out.

Lord, please protect and help those on the road to recovery, those who need recovery and those who are trying hard. On the day that we pray for people in recovery and those who love them, I want to repost one of the best shares I’ve ever heard from a mother among us. I have learned a lot from her throughout the years.
Let my beautiful friend, a mother among us, speak to your heart today. Written by Judy W.
“Our son had been in alcohol and drug addiction since about 20 years old and was now 36. He called because he and his girlfriend had been evicted and she went home to live with her parents. They were both drug users and he was on unemployment after the market crash in 2008 had closed the new car dealership he had worked successfully at for many years. He asked us for $500 for a deposit on a low- income apartment in his small town about 2 hours away from us. When my husband who had 28 years of sobriety asked me what I thought, I said I thought it was enabling since he was an addict and spending his money on drugs instead of paying his rent. He just looked at me and said, “Does he always have to be just an addict. Can’t he ever just be our son who needs our help?”
I knew right away that his compassion for the sick and suffering of our son was way beyond mine. I agreed and he was able to get his apartment. I kept praying for him and sharing at alanon when I would get disappointed in some of his choices. I learned to stop judging him and accept him and love him just the way he was. I met him for lunch in 2010 when I drove down to see a visiting friend in a nearby city. He was coming up the next week end to spend it with his dad as I would be away. He looked so handsome and told me he had quit smoking and I was so happy for him since I knew ma*****na was his first love. I told him I would give him $50 to celebrate and for gas money. Then he said, “Well I am still chewing tobacco.” I just laughed and didn’t really care. Then I gave him a big hug and said “I love you, I’m proud of you, you’re gorgeous!”
I was so grateful for that day a couple weeks later when we were driving down there to remove his belongings from that apartment. He lived there when he died from fentanyl and had lived successfully to 38 before this deadly disease took him. I thank God for that memory with him to hold in my heart. We spoke one last time on the phone the day before he died. I was on a zip line with my daughter and granddaughter and he was cheering me on for doing it. I was blown away from the outpouring of love from all his devoted lifelong friends and his rugby team from college. They had always accepted him and loved him just he was.” By Judy W.

I’m praying single parent families and for their deep, unspoken prayer requests today. I’m praying for those who’ve experienced trauma and need peace. I’m praying for YOU. Lord, wrap arms of comfort around us as we navigate this life on life’s terms, praying everyone would want to come into Your terms and lead them into Your way of life.
I’m also praying for a special family who lost their loved one this week. Lord, please wrap strong arms of comfort around them. Surround them with joyful memories.

God of All Comfort
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 English Standard Version (ESV)

A Prayer to Be on Fire for God - Your Daily Prayer - July 6 07/08/2024

I had been thinking about these very scriptures. Before I had time to write my thoughts on them, I found this.
“They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” – Luke 24:32 NIV

A Prayer to Be on Fire for God - Your Daily Prayer - July 6 Don’t despise small beginnings with God. Jesus walks with you; I believe He will set your heart on fire.

On the day we pray for families, I pray true freedom from the chains of bo***ge for all families and people we love.

I pray for health, happiness and wholeness. I pray a deepening of relationships not only among family members but with God. I pray for those who are hurting, especially the one who is hurting the most, knowing only the Lord knows who that one is.

I pray for the one who feels they may not have strength for the day. Help them to press on.
I pray for babies who need healing and the preborn. As I walk the road of “Motherhood”, I find it can be complicated, painful and wonderful all at the same time. (Something only a woman understands.)
I pray for those recovering from surgery and those facing surgery.
I pray for families dealing with Alzheimer’s.
I pray for those who are wanting a baby and those who the Lord has blessed.

I’m leaving you with some quotes:
“God shapes the world by prayer. Prayers are deathless. The lips that uttered them may be closed in death, the heart that felt them may have ceased to beat, but the prayers live before God, and God’s heart is set on them. Prayers outlive the lives of those who uttered them; outlive a generation outlive an age, outlive a world.” E. M. Bounds

“Your prayers, dear child of God…shall be answered---some of them, perhaps, during your lifetime on earth, and all of them, certainly, during your lifetime in heaven.” Samuel Prime

"May all mothers be certain that their prayers do not fall from God's oblivion. Your tears move the heart of the Lord. For when a mother kneels down in prayer, a son rises. "- Saint Augustine

07/07/2024

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." (Revelation 21:4)
As I pray each day I think of the needs of the people and how the Lord loves them so. I wish I could bring a word of comfort and healing. Lord, the people need a Word. Lord, the people need comfort. Lord, the people need healing. Lord, the people need You. We cry out to You from the porch to the altar, we cry out. We love You Lord, but more importantly You love us. Yes, us, such that we are, imperfect, wounded and broken. You love us, oh how You love us and that will get us through the day.

"O blows that smite! O hurts that pierce
This shrinking heart of mine!
What are ye but the master's tools
"Forming a work divine?"

"Nearly all God's jewels are crystallized tears." From Streams in the Desert - July 7

Ken Gire says: Help me to understand the nature and purpose of pain. If it is the chisel that crafts our character--chipping away until You are formed in us--then if I avoid pain, I also avoid the person the Father would have me to be.

I'm dedicating Saturdays to prayers for those who have lost loved ones to death. Many among us have lost loved ones, mates, parents, children and young adult children. The most unnatural thing in the world they say is burying your child. Lord, send your strong father arms of comfort to those who are grieving. And for those grieving the death of a dream, we pray also. We also pray for those grieving the loss of a pet.

We need God to get through every single day." TGIF People!
"In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit." Albert Schweitzer
We all need others to fan the flame, but we need the Holy Spirit to ignite our souls and Jesus to help us live this life. Father, I believe You when You say that "All things are possible to him who believes" (Mark 9:23, NKJV). With Your help, I will keep trying impossible things. I will keep praying impossible things and loving those who seem impossible at times. Thank you, for the tailor-made crosses You have given to each of us, although at times they seem impossible to bear. But we know You bore them first and for that we are so grateful.
We are praying for the deep unspoken prayer requests today. The ones we utter only to You. Please reach deep into hearts today, that healing will come.

Let Freedom Ring and Reign!

Lord, You have been mighty and kind to our nation! Help us put our eyes back on You and truly return to being one nation, under God, indivisible. Let us somehow look with eyes of love on the people of our nation. Please provide for the needy and give plans to them to become productive and functional. Protect our children and grandchildren from the harm and evils in the world around them.

Break the chains that bind us and those that we love as we pray for those on a recovery walk and those who need to be. Set plans of healing into action. Give them an awareness of living one day, one hour, even one minute at a time as needed.

Many people become weary as they look around their world and see people being mean to each other. People who of the same family, not appreciating the fact that we can pick our friends, but You place the solitary in families. I pray especially today for that mother that doesn’t have a hope or prayer left for her loved one to be renewed and find joy in Jesus’ name.

07/03/2024

I thank You, Father that a day of great favor is coming for those who are clinging to You, watching for You and Your answers to our prayers. We ask that You search the hearts for the unspoken or secret petitions and that You help us to pray in line with Your will for us.

We sometimes can only breathe the name of Jesus as our prayer when things seem hard. Breathe and pray, breathe and pray and may your day be blessed.

"Be kind and merciful. Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be a loving expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting. To children, to the poor, to all who suffer and are lonely, give always a happy smile. Give them not only your care, but your heart." Mother Teresa of Calcutta

“A holy person, isn’t known by what he or she doesn’t watch, by avoiding a few forbidden words, or by attending a frequent number of religious meetings, but by how he or she treats fellow sinners.” Gary Thomas
We are praying for those who are sick and single parents and their children. Lord, please heal, provide for and help each person in need.
Have a peaceful Wednesday in Jesus name!
