We're thrilled that Jim Carteris and his team at FirstLight Home Care of The Peninsula have been recognized by McKnight's Home Care in their Home Sweet Home series!
Read all about Jim's designation as our Franchisee of the Year and how he's built a successful, ever-growing business:
San Francisco franchise owner wins FirstLight Home Care Franchisee of the Year Award In 2019, Jim Carteris sold his staffing business after 25 years. Around that time, he was out motorcycling with a friend from high school when he was referred to another old peer, Mark Paretchan, the general manager of the FirstLight franchise in Marin County, CA.
Our FirstLight Spotlight shines a light on our franchisees and the incredible impact they’re making on their local communities. This month, we’re proud to recognize FirstLight Home Care of Greater Charlotte for their dedicated fundraising efforts for the Alzheimer's Association: The Longest Day 💜
Since 2021, the FirstLight Home Care of Greater Charlotte team has raised nearly $10,000 to benefit the Alzheimer's Association of Western Carolina. In partnership with ten sponsors from the senior networking community throughout Charlotte, the team hosted an engaging, impactful fundraiser that brought their community together for an amazing cause.
Congratulations on a successful event, FirstLight Home Care of Greater Charlotte! We can’t think of a better way to honor Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month 👏
Being active is important for all ages but especially for seniors, as it can lessen chronic pain, assist with better sleep and help with flexibility.
In honor of International Yoga Day, here’s a simple chair yoga pose you can incorporate into your daily routine. It’s a great way to get some movement while staying cool in these (downward) dog days of summer.
The FirstLight community is proud to honor the legacy of Juneteenth, a day that marks the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. Today and every day, may we hold a steadfast belief in the power of freedom, equality, and caring for one another.
Being a father means being a constant source of love and support; a person who finds their own unique ways to show the special people in their life just how much they care.
Thank you to all the father figures who influence and impact our lives every day. Happy Father’s Day from your friends at %businessname%
Meet Don and Craig Randall, a father and son duo who’ve been FirstLight business owners for more than a decade. In honor of Father’s Day, we asked Craig why he loved working so closely with his dad, Don.
“There are many things that I love about working with my dad. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be getting to spend so much time working through our plans for the future, solving problems together, and finding humor through all of it.”
Happy Father’s Day to the Randalls, and to all the father figures who make a difference in our lives.
"In a word? Grateful. The stress of caring for a loved one can be overwhelming. But the staff at FirstLight has brought me relief time and time again. Sometimes it's a few words of reassurance by Manager, Sal. Other times it's the professionalism and patience shown to me by the caretakers. Whatever 'it' is, they execute it perfectly. Thank you Sal and staff for making me feel heard and supported. Most importantly, thank you for treating my loved one with such compassion." - Carla C., Anaheim Hills, CA

Did you know that approximately 90,000 people this year will be diagnosed with Parkinson's disease? That's enough to fill the Cotton Bowl stadium.
Parkinson’s disease is neurological and primarily affects movement but can additionally impair cognition.
Because those affected by the disease experience it in different ways, it can be tough to diagnose. In honor of Parkinson's Awareness Month, take a look at this article, which shares early warning signs:
