If you have signed up for the Porterville Junior Giants league this summer, this post is for YOU!!
Please check your email for a CONGRATULATIONS email and other important information from your commissioner (Sent last week). If you have been put on a waiting list, you will receive an email notification when your child has been placed on a team. Practices are scheduled to begin the week of June 10th. In the meantime, download the Junior Giants App. Beginning June 3rd, you will have access to communication with the rest of your team and Coaches.

We are on the lookout for our next Junior Giants Kid Reporter for the 2024 season!

As a Junior Giants Kid Reporter, you’ll have the incredible opportunity to be the voice of our Junior Giants community. You’ll attend games and interview players and coaches throughout the season!

We’re looking for enthusiastic Junior Giants who are:
⚾️Registered to play for the upcoming season
📸Comfortable in front of the camera
🧠Able to memorize a few lines at a time
🧡 Passionate about the Junior Giants and display confidence, integrity, leadership and teamwork on and off the field

🎉Bonus: Do you speak Korean or Spanish? We value diversity and inclusion, and fluency in additional languages will be a huge asset in connecting with our diverse fan base.

Interested? Here’s how to apply:
1. Record a short video (1-2 minutes) introducing yourself, sharing what league you are a part of, how old you are, how many years you have been playing Junior Giants and explaining why you would make a great Junior Giants Kid Reporter.
2. Share a sample interview question you would ask a player or coach.
3. If you speak Korean or Spanish, feel free to include a brief segment in that language showcasing your fluency.
4. Email a shareable link of your audition video to our team at mailto:[email protected].
The deadline to apply is Wednesday, May 8.

Casting Call: Junior Giants Kid Reporter

Audition by Tuesday, July 25

Have you always wanted to interview San Francisco Giants coaches and players? Now is your chance! We are looking to cast our first-ever Junior Giants Kid Reporter!

Our Junior Giants Kid Reporter must be:

Currently enrolled in Junior Giants

Comfortable speaking in front of a camera

Available to come to Oracle Park on either August 2 or August 3

Ready to bring lots of enthusiasm!

Interested? Here’s how to audition!

With your parent’s permission, record a video following this script:

“Hi! My name is [NAME] and I am a Junior Giant from [CITY, STATE]. My favorite thing about Junior Giants is [ANSWER]. If I could ask anyone on the San Francisco Giants a question, I would choose [ANSWER] and ask them [INSERT QUESTION]. Thank you!

Email a shareable link of your video to [email protected], list “Casting Call” in the subject line and be sure to include your name, league and age in the message.

WEEK #6: TEAMWORK
If your team is looking for an alternative to a full practice outside in the heat this week, maybe meet at the Temporary Library, located at 50 W. Olive Ave, and work on the STRIKE OUT BULLYING Contest together as a team! Deadline to turn in your contest submission is August 3rd. Here are a few entries from this year....

This week we will focus on EDUCATION while we encourage our Junior Giants to continue to read and fill up their reading scorecard. Remember, if your entire team reads 720 minutes by July 15th, the whole team will get a pair of Giants Superhero Socks!
Also, don't forget to turn in your Strike Out Bullying artwork to your Coach or Team Parent this week.

She definitely couldn't have done it without THE TEAM! GO MUGGLES!!!! THEY HAD A GREAT SEASON! I had the honor of coaching that team and might I say they were great group of kids! Can't wait to do it again next year!
