It’s spring break in Portland. Time for a family visit to the dental practice!

We love taking care of families and we have families in our practice that have been patients for 30 years!

Dr. Grass’s wife, Lani, takes care of the books and HR/ business side of things. She also works in the office very part time as she is also a life coach.

Today marks Winter Solstice!

What happens on this day according to Farmers Almanac?

On the day of the winter solstice, we are tilted as far away from the Sun as possible, which means that the Sun’s path across the sky is as low in the sky as it can be. Think about the daily path of the Sun: It rises in the east and sets in the west, arcing across the sky overhead. During the summer, the Sun arcs high in the sky, but during the winter, it arcs lower, closer to the horizon.

How can we observe the effects of solstice ourselves?

✨On the day of the solstice, stand outside at noon and look at your shadow ✨

It’s the longest shadow that you’ll cast all year! Do this again on the day of the summer solstice and you’ll see almost no shadow.

Dr. Grass and his wife met in community college in Eastern Washington state. They have lived in the same places that humpback whales migrate to and from each year, Alaska and Hawaii. 🌲🐳🌴

🩺💊 He later became a registered nurse and worked in hospice for 10 years before going back to school for dentistry.

🦥🐊 Dr. Grass is an animal “enthusiast.” In fact, he initially wanted to become a biologist and study animals in the wild.

🐢🐶 Dr. and Mrs.Grass live in Portland with their daughter, pet pup Chiweenie, 5 aquatic turtles, 5 land turtles, and Australian Monitor Lizards.

Dr. G is also an accomplished carpenter and relaxes by doing woodworking projects. 😃

✨His love of people and attention to detail make dentistry his dream career and he is happy taking care of whole families in the dental practice✨
