I spent the weekend in Denver away from this amazing man. I am sitting in an Uber making my journey home and the biggest orange moon is setting over the freeway. Sometimes life gives us moments of pure realization — and I am sitting in one.

I realize the gift that is having found someone that makes my waves bigger. Constructive interference is what they call it when waves align at the perfectly right moment to make a bigger swell than either is capable of alone.

Find that person and grow big enough to keep them. Then let them go in just small enough doses to see it.

Of course what we are doing here together is about movement, but even more than that, at its heart it is about inspiring people to take care of themselves for the people around them, for the humanity we are all woven into, for the gift that is a deeper and healthier relationship to yourself.

We are on a mission to help you life an extraordinary life through better care, better connection to your body, better tools for your longevity.

Happy early birthday to my best friend. Thank you for making swells to change the tides with me. It is an absolute privilege.

Fitness starts for many of us, as trying to change our body’s appearance

But as we’ve gotten older, we’ve realized there are much bigger reasons to regularly move and care for your body.

The biggest one for us lately is the reality of being stranded on your own floor from a fall. It’s not uncommon when an older person falls and breaks a hip to die of dehydration from the inability to move, not their injuries.

As cliche as it is, if you don’t use it, you lose it.

So find some sort of movement plan that you love and stick to it. If you need help — reach out, that’s what we’re here for.

I was diagnosed with hyper mobility disorder (EDS) while in Chiro school, honestly wondering why every one else loved adjustments so much…

Turns out they just had very different connective tissue than I did.
😂
👉🏼 Living with hyper mobility without realizing it looks like chronic aches and pains that change location regularly.
👉🏼 It looks like self manipulating more times a day than I even realized (maybe 40 times?!?) just by turning my head or reaching for something.
👉🏼 It looks like stretching for temporary relief, only to need to stretch again and again to find that same feeling but never addressing the root of the pain.
👉🏼 It looks like having chronic digestive issues that aren’t linked to any specific food, annoyingly (our gut is all connective tissue).
👉🏼 It looks like being really good at yoga but still actually in pain every damn day.

Then taught me how to strength train with integrity and great mechanics… and seriously couldn’t even be diagnosed as hyper mobile based on the current criteria anymore (although I still likely have deficient collagen, the tests are just stretching tests).

I stiffened my joints through building strength!!!!
