“The times are urgent; let us slow down. Slowing down is losing our way-not a human capacity or human capability. It is the invitations that are now in the world-at-large, inviting us to listen deeply, to be keen, to be fresh, to be quick with our heels, to follow the sights and sounds and smells of the world.”-Bayo Akomolafe. Go get some community acupuncture from my dear friend, a power house mom, Felicia. She uses the space at Turn!Turn!Turn! on N Williams,Tuesday+Thursday, 9-2pm, Wednesday 9-1pm and Saturdays 9-1pm with Mo! More info

Happy Earth plane birthday dear brother! I miss you every day but take joy in knowing you’re at peace. I see you in my skin when it turns brown in the summer, in your kids faces, I feel you in the ocean, I hear you when your boys hum in pleasure when they eat, I see you in the pain and struggle in the patients I treat, and see you in the houseless on the street for your heart cared immensely especially for those who suffered greatly. I hear your affirmations towards me as a caretaker. I love you.
Everybody’s gotta have an adventure boo! Love you .common

Hey! It’s been awhile bc I really dislike social media. I’m just jumping on to express my solidarity with Palestine and not supporting companies like Mountain Rose Herbs. These pics are from the program I co run called Atabey Medicine. We’ve always worked with medicine with and from the community. It’s never made sense to me otherwise. I couldn’t figure out how to share some of the awesome images and info people have been posting lately. There are so many amazing local growers here and those include apprentices with the tiniest gardens. We know where the true medicine comes from. Just to list some amazing local growers

Oye gente! The time is ripe for diving into reflection within our communities on what land we stand on to begin to vision what our collective transformation looks like. These patriarchal, cis heteronormative and white supremacist narratives are beginning to crumble though the last clutches and gripping is real. Here’s a beautiful and powerfully laid out manual by a crew I’m truly humbled to be a part of. This manual follows the Taíno medicine wheel thru each element, filled with reflection and exercises to help us in the process of decolonization. Boriken/Puerto Rico is a micro guide in this manual to share its own decolonizing process as a active colony of the U.S. Please consider purchasing a copy, 20$-40$ while asking White folks to pay higher end. Proceeds go to as they work towards land reclamation and healing justice for q***r and trans folk. Thanks to for putting this manual together. Please DM if you want a copy!
This my life’s work, y’all. These images say it all. The revolution may have multiple paths, faces and this is one. Allowing black and brown bodies to take up space in the forest, rivers and trees and not have to worry as much about violence because we were on ‘private’ land. For our bodies to experience pleasure, joy and remember again the ecstasy of interaction with water and the smooth texture of clay, our earth mother. Gratitude for this beloved crew and those who don’t have IG and those there in spirit . Gratitude for the land of the Kalapuya blessings on your people. Thank you for letting us be there. May there be more and more of our people finding our sovereign place once again with the land and with our medicine.
Plant medicine and access to healing spaces is a vital way in removing toxicity from the impact of white supremacy. Please consider donating funds to help us continually make medicine for our black community right now by sending $$ to @$HOCMA on Cash app Also support Ayomide pictured here whose
shop name is Milieu Collective and inside you will find The Portland Chocolate Laboratory Chocolatepdx.com. Ayomide is a power house here on Chinook territory/Portland, OR and who makes the best damn chocolate. She also helps run Humans of Color. Ayomide has played a role in getting medicine out to the houseless community and currently our Black community. Please help us continue to make more medicine by donating. This is another way to support this revolutionary transition.
Say her name Breonna Taylor.

Greatest expression of hope comes from seeds in all forms albeit a plant or child. The first picture of seeds were from family in Boriken who insist I take them back and I seeded them today. The next picture is of my Tulsi seeds from last years plants. May we remember our ancestors in this time of uncertainty as they’ve lived through a great deal of trials. May we remember the abundance the great mother, Atabey, always has to offer when we remember all we need is already here. All the hoarding and fear will not be what gets us out.
