Two shades of cutch pigment being processed into watercolor.
My original venture into pigment was inspired from .garcia84 using calcium carbonate but recently I discovered the alternative recipe with sodium carbonate gives different shades as the ph is altered. Thanks for sharing your results!

There are a variety of plants including :
Daisy, Iris, mugwort, hollyhock, black mondo grass, ajuga, soap wort, coral bells , sedums and more……
Good deals, good plants, happy gardens!
DM if you’re looking for something particular and you don’t see it listed. There are half a dozen or more that i didn’t mention.
What remains is subject to change.
This is the aged throne I built in 2015 when i participated in the glean residency. My vision was to manifest a story about the spiritual warrior.
But what would that look like?
I would soon find out as I opened myself to the collection of garbage that we as a community have discarded and forgotten.
Spirit guides came to me and many rusted treasures appeared. Quickly my vision was taking shape.
The throne became the center or consciousness for the warrior to accept all the gifts of each spirit guide and ultimately shed their ego self to allow the next phase of evolution to unfold.
During this time I was also going through major life transformations. I know that part of me was infused with this warrior. And at the same time I understand that each of us is a warrior that has the potential to overcome obstacles and connect with our spirit guides.
To all the warriors out there I send you love and continued strength. May we evolve to our highest potential! 💓
day 12
Did you know that I sell a selection of dyes and herbs?
Almost everything I sell has been harvested from my hands and dried in studio to share with other makers like you.
Today I am packing up a combo of sumac leaves, dried black walnut and organic gardenia (not my harvest).
I love to share the abundance of this earth with you as I harvest and grow for my personal dye practice.
What is your favorite dye or herb?
As some of you know I have just finished my first book -Spirituality of Rust and i am gearing up for its release in early June.
This book has been so very important for me to push myself beyond anything I thought possible . It has also blessed me with a better understanding of not only my spiritual connection to this planet but the intricate web of community that exists within.
This community is you and it is also every ecosystem of this earth.
Inside the pages I connect these communities and reveal my most powerful teacher - rust. It is my honor to share these musings and facts with you!
I am having a book presale on gofundme to help with the costs a quantity of books that I can offer to bookstores and for personal sales beyond its availability on streaming book sites.
Your donation is actually a purchase of the book which I will send out right after the release.
Please visit the site (gofundme) via my linktree in bio to purchase the book and help me reach my goal.
Also please share with anyone who loves nature, natural processes, earth based religion, dancing, art, self empowerment, plants, pigment…… you get the idea 😉
💗 many blessings to you!
Book launch info coming soon…..
day 9
Thank you for those who have already contributed and a generous gift for editing from
🙏
Water, heat and time. I discovered these three things when I started my rusting journey. They produce, enhance and speed up the process.
It sounds so simple yet it took me many trials to figure it out and bring each of them together. I did not have an instructor or the convenience of the internet to search for information back in 2001.
It felt like I was being initiated in the rust cult for which I knew none of the other members.
day 6
Creative circle - March 23 from 6:30-8.
Join me and other creatives for this free offering as we gather together around a central theme- Creativity. Each of us has a creative impulse that finds its way out to the world. How we manifest that impulse is so very magical and personal. As we come together in this safe space there is time to share, connect and glean inspiration from each other.
Last months circle was small but valuable. This month I hope you can show up and contribute. By contribute I mean share your ideas, new work, old work, technical questions, and upcoming events / shows.
I am working on bringing in a guest artist for the next circle gathering (April). It would be great to share technical skills ranging from sewing, costume making, weaving, writing, dancing, painting, and really any art form.
Please reach out to me if you would like to be a spotlight artist for future circles.
If you are interested in joining the circle this month please message me to confirm. There is space for 10 bodies.
Getting organized and taking stock of what I have completed.
There is quite a bit of fabric yardage from past collections and explorations.
Even though they may be finished from my end they are still full of the potential to become a finished creation.
Planning and preparing for fabric sales…..
Upcoming :
February 14 ISD social
March 4- studio fabric sale 10-3
These are the cotton and linens which have been hand dyed and digitally printed.
Mandala manifestation
Sometimes a little space is needed in order to see things clearly.
Two years ago I started this piece with the blessings of hollyhock, dandelion root and a touch of rust.
Today I am embroidering a pattern that was printed from rose petals which I traced the outline and expanded upon. The pink threads are colored with shades of cochineal and Evernia Prunastri (oak moss).
Sending love to you!

We need more of it in this world
Colors of the flame warm my studio. A new project is underway to initiate the light of imbolg - in the belly - spring stirs
And it is perfect timing as the moon waxes and allows for expansion and inspiration.
Prepare your seeds for the new crop cycle.
Join in the ritual on February 2.
Many blessings 🌟
Zero waste
Hand bags made from the remnants of ponchos.
This particular one is a felted wool that was dyed with sappanwood, weld, hollyhock and woad leaves.
I might just gift it to myself.
Do you ever gift yourself something that you make?
We are doorways for the goddess to work through us. Our potential for creation is inside wanting to be manifested.

Well, we made it through another year and I am so very grateful for all of you. My world revolves around making with the earths gifts and it is my honor to use these gifts to create sacred items and share my knowledge with you. Every like, share, and purchase you make is really what keeps me moving forward and generates inspiration. I look forward to the magic that will unfold for us in 2023!
I have been recouping from my last big push for holiday sales and baking. There is a certain energy that I tap into for everything to flow.
And then everything slows.
I surrender to the quiet and that is when my most precious seeds of inspiration are born.
I am so very thankful for all the love and support you have shown me this year.
💗
I see us as a community of misfits who love this earth and refuse to give up hope. You are a bearer of light and love.
Thank you for showing up ! ✨
It takes all colors, shapes and sizes to create the perfect mix of love, strength, and beauty.
So must it be!

I am thrilled to be hosting this annual solstice event in my studio again after a pandemic pause.
This year I have gathered a few beautiful makers to share what they have been creating so you may discover and indulge.
I will be highlighting each artist in individual posts forthcoming.
Please tag and share to spread the word.
✨
For the last few years I have been stepping up my embroidery game. It started with delicate brass threads that were sprinkled in my gallery pieces and since then I have been incorporating natural dyed threads into my work. I would love to share the abundance with you. Please visit my shop to see what colors and types of threads I am offering.
Have a beautiful day!
I am thankful for the conservation efforts with federal land management, organizations, and indigenous tribes to bring back bison.
The population was nearly brought to extinction through over hunting, habitat erosion, and diseases from white settlers by 1889.
Because bison are extremely important to the grasslands ecosystem as well as the cultural and spiritual lives of Native Americans they are finally making a comeback.
In 2014 the buffalo treaty was created with 13 nations from 8 reservations that formed an intertribal alliance in a commitment to reintroduce wild bison.
This world we live in is so very flawed and most of those flaws are because of humans.
This earth is always working magically to balance and renew. It is truly a gift to be able to connect with her.
I wish we could all learn to nurture ourselves, each other, and this earth 🌏
Have a blessed thanksgiving !
Just listed this elegant camisole and bikini set made with silk knit, vintage lace and repurposed buttons. Colors of sappanwood and composted onion skins infuse the textiles with plant magic.
Every year as the temperature drops outside I get into scarf zone. Wrapping those earth soaked silk and wool fibers around my neck not only gives me style but keeps the warmth of my body circulating.
Each piece I create is a prayer for healing, love and abundance that is given to whomever owns it.
I am crushing hard on this silk beauty. Dyed with cotinus leaf in the magic window of May and June then over dyed with rose and rust using my compost method to manifest this pattern and color story. 💗
I must spread the love ……..
Just in time for the cold crisp air moving through I have added a few wool ponchos to my shop. This charcoal maharam wool is so insulating and can be layered with a hoodie for extra warmth. I clasp mine in the front so it fits over my head and stays over my shoulders while I move.
